I’m not usually a dive bar person, but this place is the exception. It has the relaxed, no-frills vibe you’d expect, but the cocktails are surprisingly great… way better than most dives.
What really sets it apart is the staff. They genuinely care about their patrons’ safety, which makes me feel comfortable coming here on my own. That peace of mind, plus the good drinks, makes this my go-to neighborhood spot.

Went here during Wicker Park Fest and sat outside. The waitress was so nice and did an amazing job with a heavy load. We tipped her well and enjoyed the service. One of the two bouncers here was rude to me out of nowhere. I was trying to exit the bar on my way back from the restroom and he was having a prolonged conversation with a girl in the doorway. I said “Excuse me” quietly and then tried to go around them. I then heard “Would it kill you to wait two minutes?” Followed up by “I bet you’ve never waited for a thing in your life.” I just stared at him and went back to my table because it was bizarre to be so rude for no reason, and his job is literally to ensure traffic flow into and out of the bar. The other bouncer was cool, so I hope this guy has a better day and stops being snarky to patrons who are enjoying themselves and tipping properly.

This is a great bar, very dark inside with red string lights. We came here on a Saturday at 5:30. There were people at the bar and at tables, but it wasn’t crowded and when we left around 6:30 it also wasn’t crowded.
The bartender was attentive, and not annoying.
Overall a great place to grab a drink while in Wicker.
They also had a dog in the bar, v fun.

When we arrived the lines were wrapped around the building and down the street! Even though there were so many people we were in and out within 7 minutes! I was sooo impressed. Employees were knowledgeable and drinks were FANTASTIC!

Love this bar! Been coming here for years, great staff, and more reasonably priced than most places in the neighborhood. The food menu gets totally slept on, Mondo is an artist in the kitchen. Definitely a home away from home.
