If you have Chinese food in a hospital, it would probably taste like this. No flavor in either dish.

Delivery food was bland, cold, and mushy. The General Tso's had a thick jammy texture, which was sickly sweet; not savory or spicy as advertised. The fried rice was fine but bland, same for the crab rangoon.

Listen, when I first came here, I was a little scared of the painted fake windows with a tropical view on the wall, and the insane fluorescent lighting to remind you of taking your SATs, but I assure you it is all of those qualities that make Takie Outit now my favorite Chinese spot. Dining in is a glorious experience. Everyone is super accommodating and really appropriate with their service. This is an introvert’s ideal restaurant tbh. You can order at a kiosk (optional), sit down at a table, they give you your food, and then check in once you’re done with your meal so you don’t have to awkwardly smile and nod with your mouth full of food in front of a waiter who is obviously kissing for tips. Fantastic i love it. The painted windows? Honestly now I look at it and feel like I’m in Bali or Jamaica eating Chinese food by the water. The fluorescent lighting? Come on, what Asian restaurant actually serves good food when they have mood lighting? Name one, i bet you cant. I have learned after all these years that if my Chinese spot has cool-toned lighting through one big light in the ceiling, the food is going to HIT. Anyways, I recommend the Cantonese Style Chow Mein, Chicken or pork fried rice, and Pepper Steak. The crab rangoons and egg roll? also amazing. Smoothies are pretty solid too. Wash it all down with a banana smoothie, and see life all bright eyed like a child again. I love you Takie Outit.

Takei outit was the right choise for my this Sunday lunch, it was a welcome experience. I had not been there in four years. But I was a regular customer for 6 years when I lived at Ukrainian Village.
I had a Kong Pao beef and I requested sub noddles for rice. But there was an up charge of 4 dollars for the substitution. I got a little disappointed but I pay for it. The noddles were sautéed with vegetables. Separately from de meat. The look and tasted amazing. The Kong Pao was flavorful and well served. The plate presentation was like I was in a fancy Chinese restaurant.
The customer service was polite and attentive.
I ended paying 14 dollars instead of 10 dollars for the substitution of noddles but it was still a bargain compared to other Chinese fast food restaurants I’ve been to. Definitely I will comeback to try something else.

Everything you want in a take out place.
We love the Mongolian Beef and miso soup. It's a wonderful neighborhood business offering great last minute lunch /dinner options. The owner is always willing to give you suggestions on what to try next if you ask him. Great to still have this spot around after all these years!
I’d eaten there years ago and thought it was cheap and greasy. Then the current owner posted on the neighborhood group, hoping to get feedback from the community. That in itself got points for being open and self-reflective. I learned that ownership changed hands and a lot of neighbors said it had gotten better.
I decided to give it a shot and am so glad I did. The food was hot and delicious and reasonably priced. I’m so happy to add them to my “quick eats” rotation.
Extremely nice owners, but multiple efforts at carry out didn't even taste like Chinese food. They have a following, and more power to them. Food doesn't taste like Asian we are used to.

Our fave local Chinese takeout spot! We’ve been going here for 5 years now and can’t say better things. The family who owns it has the best hospitality. Service is quick, even on the weekends. Our fave dishes are ma po tofu, general tsos chicken and mangolian beef. And combo fried rice. And egg drop soup. And we recently tried their Szechuan dumplings, sad we’ve been missing out on them for 5 years! They were amazing.
Chefs kiss. 12/10
I love this place! Amazing food and quick service for all their cooking! It's one of my favorite spots in Chicago and I always bring my friends here when they visit.
Takie Outit is a neighborhood gem. Be prepared to be full from classic delicious Chinese food, and when you leave your wallet will still be full as well. A+++++
Everything slapped tonight! From the wonton soup to the lo mein beef. Thank you for being our neighborhood gem!
