Top Tao Tea is undoubtedly one of the cutest and most aesthetically pleasing boba cafes in Chicago! From the moment you step inside, the charming decor and cozy atmosphere make it an inviting spot to enjoy your drinks.
During my visit, I had the pleasure of trying several delightful flavors: the Dragonfruit Kumquat was a refreshing delight with a vibrant hue and a perfect balance of sweet and tangy. The Oreo Brown Sugar was a rich and indulgent treat that combined the creamy flavors of Oreo with a deep brown sugar sweetness—absolutely divine!
The Thai Milk was smooth and comforting, capturing the essence of a traditional Thai drink, while the Passion Fruit Tea brought a burst of fruity freshness that was simply irresistible. Last but not least, the Matcha Tea provided a lovely earthy flavor that's both calming and revitalizing.
Overall, Top Tao Tea offers a fantastic selection of beverages that cater to a variety of tastes, all within a beautifully decorated space. I highly recommend this charming cafe for anyone looking to enjoy a delicious boba experience in Chicago!
I’m not a big bubble tea drinker but I had a matcha tea with all kinds of things in there and some gogi bubbles wow excellent!
Usually is the best boba around, however some things to note are there is only one nondairy milk, coconut milk, which costs $1.50. Their taro contains dairy. The pandan tea is sooo bad. Also I was disappointed in the ratio of milk in my drink after paying so much. I would appreciate having another milk option like most places have nowadays
Inedible boba. Was extremely old and broke in your mouth. The taro was sour.
Great tea - terribly slow service. Only 5 teas ahead of us and waited 20 minutes, with TWO employees working.
There are a bunch of boba, smoothie, and tea shops around, but I like Top Tao Tea's vibe and options. I always grab a drink from here if I'm nearby. There are vegan options too. Consider this your sign to check it out
Good place for a bubble tea.
The strawberry slushee was blended fairly well and tasted good with the lychee jelly. The milk tea was decent, but the boba was a bit too firm - maybe not the freshest at 5:00 pm on a Sunday. I would return to try some of their other drinks.
Order and pay at 1 of 2 kiosks. Instagram background to take a pic. Parking is tough.
I recently visited Top Tao Tea, and I loved it! The cozy atmosphere made it a great place to unwind. I had the taro tea—so delicious and creamy!
We played Uno while enjoying our drinks, which added to the fun. The staff is super friendly and helpful.
Overall, it's a perfect spot for tea lovers looking for a relaxed vibe. I can’t wait to go back!
Good tea, but only one person running the store on the weekend?! Why would management do that to the employee and the customers? Definitely not coming again unless management appropriate staffs the store.

One of the few places you can get taro without sugar. They allow you to customize your drink, tastes like good quality, cool cups, introvert friendly, easy breezy
This place has gone downhill. Usually it's some of the best bubble tea around. But then I went today and got a typical order of milk tea. When I started drinking it after I had left the store, I noticed something weird tasting, like salty and bitey, not sweet. I'm pretty sure they put salted milk foam in my drink. Why? It wasn't on the menu. I just wanted a regular black milk tea. It was disgusting. A total waste. Don't try to make things fancy when people don't ask for it. Just make your drinks as you normally do.

Flavors can be a little artificial, but not crazy. It was still a refreshing drink with lots of fruit. Service was fast despite the line

I would give this place 5 stars unless wasn’t for the chaotic pickup. The teas are super awesome tasting; I like how they are a bit less sweet than other places so you can taste the flavors and not go into a diabetic coma. The place is clean and I like how it smells. I feel like they just need to organize the picking up better. Sometimes the wait is long and customers get testy. I would say maybe write names on the order or call the names out because sometimes people try to grab the wrong drinks. But as far as the drinks go they are outstanding!
