What an amazing place and staff. This place is rocking and rolling every weekend. Whenever I’m in the city this is a must stop. The cocktails are delicious and the bartender are very knowledgeable. The band is always on point super entertaining! Make sure you get your girlfriend or wife the “Bathtub” served in a mini bathtub complete with a mini rubber ducky! If you are looking for a place to sing along till your little hearts content this is a must visit!

The Bassment in Chicago is a hidden gem that combines sophistication, style, and incredible live music in one unforgettable experience. From the moment you descend into the intimate, speakeasy-style space, you’re transported into a world of elegance and charm. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with dim lighting, plush seating, and a touch of vintage glamour that perfectly complements the lively energy of the performances. The musicians are top-notch, the cocktails are expertly crafted, and every detail — from the décor to the acoustics — is designed to create an exceptional night out.

What truly makes The Bassment stand out is the seamless blend of entertainment and hospitality. The staff are attentive and personable, ensuring every guest feels welcome and well taken care of throughout the evening. Whether you’re there for date night, a celebration, or just to unwind with great music and drinks, The Bassment delivers an experience that feels both exclusive and comfortable. It’s one of those rare Chicago spots where the vibe, sound, and service all come together perfectly — a must-visit for anyone who appreciates quality nightlife and unforgettable live performances.

The entrance fee and drink prices were expensive. My phone also got stolen. Security helped out but not good enough to help me find my phone. It was very disappointing.

Cool place for the night. No bags allowed. Try to reserve a coach in advance.

Went on a Friday night, the vibe is cozy forsure , lowlight spot, the live music was great including variety. Was described as “For the girlies” . Lots of seating, but gives the club section impression of needing to reserve a table. No stools at bar , only downside is the seating situation. Professional staff. There is no dress code however you’re gonna want to go casual but lean towards a more clean/ well put together look.

My friend and I were denied entry at The Bassment around 1am when we stopped by to catch the final hour of live music we’d seen listed on Google. There was no line, so we figured it was a good time to check it out. Instead, we were met by two dismissive bouncers (a middle-aged Black man and an older white man) who claimed we weren’t dressed appropriately—but couldn’t actually articulate what the issue was.

It was an 80° summer night, and we were dressed in weather-appropriate, clean, casual attire: linen shorts, plain shirts, and nice shoes (OnClouds and boat shoes—nothing sloppy or out of place). We had no problems entering multiple downtown spots earlier that evening and were treated respectfully everywhere else.

What made this worse was seeing others leaving the venue dressed far more casually. It felt discriminatory, inconsistent, and frankly, unprofessional. We’re both working professionals who carried ourselves accordingly and expected the same level of respect.

Plenty of great venues in Chicago know how to treat patrons right. The Bassment clearly isn’t one of them. Do better.

The best time I’ve ever had at a club was hands down at The Bassment. From the moment we arrived, the energy was electric. The live music was incredible—every song the band played had the crowd on their feet, singing and dancing all night. It felt more like an exclusive concert than just another night out.

What truly made the night unforgettable was the VIP treatment, thanks to manger Effy! The host was extremely attentive to every detail—checking in regularly, making sure drinks were flowing, and that we had everything we needed. There was no stress, no waiting around—just smooth, high-end service the entire night.

The Bassment created the perfect mix of luxury and live entertainment. It was one of those rare nights where everything aligned—the music, the vibe, the service. Easily the best nightlife experiences my partner and I ever had.
