The atmosphere in the dining rooms of this historic building and restaurant is amazing-- almost worth a meal here to experience it. That's good, because the food was just OK, and the staff seemed indifferent to whether or not we felt welcome and/or enjoyed ourselves. They have an extensive list of German-style beers, and the menu is similarly expansive. So lots to choose from. Between my wife and I we have only two meals on which to base this review, but neither was memorable...
We went in for lunch for a birthday and to see Santa for the grandkids.\nWe had appetizers, Rueben’s, and Roast beef sandwiches. Along with a side of red cabbage.\nSusan was our server and was absolute wonderful.\nThe food was fantastic as always .
If you like authentic german food, this is the place to go. The bratwurst was excellent, and the chicken with spaetzle soup was simple but divine. The ambience was great and our server was very attentive. I am glad we decided to dine here and would definitely return.
