Everything is vegan by default which is great. Lots of delicious shakes! Their Philly Cheeze Steak is also great!

I ate way too much here and it was all fantastic. I’ll take another peppermint bark shake please😄 Updated from previous review on 2025-12-08

Food is always good, every time I am in Chicago I try to make a point to visit and am never disappointed. The Country Fried Steak has long been a favorite but is a heavy meal but those mashed potatoes and the gravy hoooooooweeeeee put that on anything I will eat it (vegan of course) Their Lentil Loaf was really great the last last time I was there and wanted to try other things so didn't get it this time but do think about it whenever I think of Chicago. This last visit I got Club Sandwich with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy and I am not even a member. It was really good not the absolute best Club I have had but a slight notch below it and would get again. I also got the Thai Chili wings which are always good and made with their housemade seitan and with the lime on them it really does elevate them to a new level. The jalapeño poppers were good but like every one I order all over the place most of them are mild and then the last one or two are the spicy ones. I don't know how or what but I get them all over and the same thing each time. I will say these need to cool almost completely the cheese was a bit too gooey but the flavor was on point. Ranch is good but I feel like it was a bit much for this but couldn't give a better option for a dipping sauce. I You can't have that one it's a Coconut cake (with lemon) and it was good hopefully it isn't just seasonal and sticks around. I also got Donnie's Peanut Butter Puck for later and was good but a little on the dry side but to be fair it was 4 hours later. Gotta hava shake, Cookie Dough Peanut butter is the only one I get and really should try others but I can't not skip that one. I have probably tried a good 40% of the menu and it is always good and I wish I could get half portions and try more of it because I always look and go man I wish I could get that that that and that but I am traveling and cannot carry it.

What a fantastic discovery! The ambiance, cuisine, and service were all excellent. Finding a true family-run restaurant that puts so much love into everything is quite uncommon these days. This is the place to go in Bristol if you want carefully prepared, real, traditional meals. But if you're pressed for time, go to McDonald's, where the focus is on genuine excellence. A big thank you to the amazing chefs and crew. Totally delicious!

The food is so gas and its so nice to have an entirely vegetarian menu!!!! I like the energy of the space, well decorated but not overwhelming. The only thing is that sometimes the service can be a little slow (regardless of it is super busy). Definitely worth a try tho!!!!!

A little disappointed. We went to The Chicago Diner for our anniversary dinner. We hadn't been in 5 years but had really fond memories of this place. There were only two servers for the entire restaurant but they were holding it down well. The poutine was probably my favorite thing we had, but thought they could have used a different cheese than melted vegan cheese (paneer would have been a good substitute). I ordered the country fried steak, but it was really tough to eat. The mashed potatoes that came with it were good. We ordered the lemon coconut cake for dessert but it was really dry.

It was fine for a place that's been around forever. There was a fair amount of options, but the food was very cookie cutter and lack luster. I think not being vegan myself maybe made it a bit more critical, but service was mid at best, we didn't have any silverware, we needed to ask for more water glasses, no one checked to see if we needed more drinks. Cool spot though, if I was vegan the menu would be a nice refuge from your typical place.

Still a great option for vegan entrees. Only complaint is they had some awful pop radio on when I was there last.

There were so many interesting things on the menu that we had a hard time choosing. We loved what we did choose. It was so yummy!

Got the country fried steak. Chewy and bland. Like an old rubber tire. Broccoli and other veg were barely cooked. Couldn’t eat it.

What I miss most since becoming vegan is a good diner experience and this one brought back the nostalgia! Everything was so good!

The coffee is brewed just right, strong but never bitter.
