I’m a firm believer of, if you know better you do better. I went there yesterday, the Mac and cheese was bland, not cheese at all and the candid yams was extremely dry, I had to go home and doctor them up, wasn’t my intentions to cook. The gravy was a tad bit salty. Oh Dressing is not dressing without the cranberry sauce. The customer service may have been the only thing I was happy with… sorry!! I will return hopefully it’s a better experience.

I came now got the smothered chicken with rice and greens and yams I can still see pink in my chicken the greens taste like soap was in the pot the yams was overcooked and mushy the rice and muffin what's the best I'll try this cuz I'll try to support the community business but I have to find somewhere else good to eat

Staff and food is great. If you love soul food this is a good place on the Southside. Also, you can sit in and enjoy your food. That's a plus.

I love to come here for lunch on Fridays. I have always enjoyed my meal and the options are wonderful! This is a good place to come grab a bite of down home delicious eats. One of my favorite soul food places in the neighborhood.

I’m very upset and I will NEVER support this place again. I placed an order for short beef ribs, greens , and double Mac n cheese only because the yams would take 1 hour. I asked did a muffin come with it she said yes it will be 20 mins ok fine I went to get a dessert then 10 mins later my food was ready, I went to get food and asked can I purchase 2 extra muffins she said oh she forgot. So I waited til muffins was done about 20 mins, so I waited, when the muffins was done I asked can I purchase the 2 extra muffins she told me that other people placed an order. I said I just want two extra muffins she asked me did I pay for them I said im trying to, she said other people have placed the order. So I’m confused because if my food ready why can’t I purchase 2 more muffins if the muffins are ready. The lady who I was speaking with was the manager. She went to the back and sent another lady to the register. I asked her can I purchase the 2 muffins. She said I can’t and she can’t go over the boss head. The lady beside me was paying for her food which she bought 2 meals and told them to give her 2 muffins a to me. They never gave me the muffins. My food was already cold from waiting so long I just let and thanked the lady for her offer. This is so disgusting to me. The boss was in the back talking crap but never came back to the register. I just left and I will NEVER support this restaurant ever. This was bad customer service. Food cold and no extra muffins this is terrible when all the lady had to do was let me purchase 2 extra muffins.

I drove over there after not getting a response via phone, and the place is boarded up and abandoned. I guess things weren't so good for the Good Life.

Went there on several occasions ordered the smothered pork chops, they were salty to the point that they were not eatable. 1 particular Staff was not friendly and argumentative and rude. Voiced my concern to the older black lady and she assured me that it wouldn't happen again. Traveled over 40 miles and was disappointed. This establishment is hit or miss

The absolute worst!!! I've never had dressing with a burned crust on top? The green beans were bland and not completely cooked. I will not return ?
