Visited on a recent Sunday. It wasn’t crowded (which was great) and had a fun eclectic decor. I tried a Bloody Mary and was rather disappointed, and underwhelmed. I asked about the base—store bought and a bit too salty. The accompanying “garden”consisted of a small piece of celery, pickle, and one olive (and the usual lemon/lime that no one really uses). While they did use Tito’s vodka, the $14 price tag wasn’t worth it. The bar service was attentive and warm. I may come back, but not for a bloody.

Sat at the bar with a friend for lunch. Ordered a patty melt, was asked if I wanted fries, and fried calamari. Was give the patty melt first and it and the fries were cold, then the appetizer of calamari came out cold as well. I had to refill my own water twice. Bartender never checked on us. My bill was $56!!! Did not eat the calamari and only a portion of my patty melt. Will never go back. I do not remember it being this bad before. It really sucked. - such a cool place
also. The friend I was with was shocked as well.

Went after not having visited in over 4 years and it's no longer what it was. Ordered a burger for takeout during lunch, and found out that there is a $5 takeout fee added onto my $18 burger when paying my bill at pickup. No prior communication, and what is a takeout fee?
Burger was pretty dry, and under seasoned. Fries were a little soggy/soft. Ended up paying almost $30 with taxes and fees for mediocre burger and fries. Absurd for even river north prices.
Disappointed as I used to be a regular 5/6 years ago.

Good food and reasonable prices. Fun old timey bar ambiance and quick turnout for food.

2 stars for the outside and historic value, service was below average. And the hype of the speakeasy is overplayed

This place used to be my go-to. However lately the service is absolutely horrific it is next to impossible to get any help. I was there a few days ago they told me the kitchen closed at 4:00 but I've been there in the past and the kitchen and close at 8:00. The server told me that the Cooks this Saturday to go home? Anyway this place used to be amazing and now it's horribly expensive this service is horrific it is just not the same

Got stung by a wasp right in front of the restaurant so BE CAREFUL! They thankfully helped us get an ice pack though. Drinks were okay - they were out of the cider we wanted so we got a different one. Worth it to get to the speakeasy downstairs though!

Fun thing to do downtown. We didn’t have reservations, so the “downstairs” was a wait. After almost 2 hours, we gave up and left. Then we got a text that our time was ready when we got to our car. Sad we missed the show. We will try again! Food was good. Drinks were reasonable for “downtown.”

Very good place to eat and have a drink. The service can improve, but it is good. Don't forget to visit the secret tavern. The burger is better than the triple cheese sandwich.
