This is a jazz bar frequented by Al Capone, the head of the Chicago mafia. There is a secret escape route leading to the basement, but it is not open. It is the floor near the entrance and is covered with something.

As it is a jazz bar, bands come and perform at set times, and the bands that come every day are different, and the admission fee is determined according to the band name value. I stopped by on a Monday and admission was $10.

Really enjoyed going to The Green Mill. I didn't know of the Al Capone connections until I came to write this review, but that makes it much more fun! There was a $10 cover the night I went, really enjoyed the band playing (Some of the regulars) and bought a record from them. I'm glad I went on a Monday night, because it wasn't nearly as busy as it could have been. We got the last 2 seats in the house, but people left by 10ish anyway and we moved to better seats....
