Fabulous 4th of July Weekend at Loews Chicago!
My husband and I had an excellent stay at the Loews Chicago Hotel over the recent long 4th of July holiday weekend!
The hotel is very modern, beautiful, and perfectly maintained. Our room was clean, comfortable, and offered an amazing view of the city. From check-in to check-out, every staff member we interacted with was friendly, courteous, and extremely helpful.
We especially enjoyed the rooftop bar, Streeterville Social — the food and drinks were delicious, and the city views were fantastic. We also appreciated the convenience of the lobby lounge and For Five Coffee Roasters — both offered great food, drinks, and a relaxing atmosphere.
The location couldn’t be better — within easy walking distance to Navy Pier, Grant Park, the Riverwalk, and Michigan Avenue.
If I had to suggest one addition, it would be an outdoor pool — but honestly, that’s the only thing that could have made our stay even better.
Thank you, Loews Chicago, for a fabulous experience!

I just attended a conference for multiple days at the Loews hotel in Chicago and had a wonderful experience. Service was friendly and helpful, food was delicious, and location couldn’t be beat.

Despite an initial snag with our confirmed connecting rooms not being available at check-in—which meant our first night was spent in separate rooms—our experience quickly pivoted to a fantastic one thanks to the hotel's exceptional staff and management. Luis and his team demonstrated remarkable professionalism and efficiency, promptly rectifying the issue by upgrading us to the Presidential Suite with a connecting double room for our subsequent two nights. This proactive approach made the remainder of our stay truly A+++.

The hotel's location is ideal for exploring, with Michigan Avenue, an AMC theater, and Lucky Strike bowling just a short walk away. We also appreciated the proximity to boat tours (a ten-minute walk) and a 24-hour Walgreens for any last-minute needs. Navy Pier was the only spot we needed to drive to. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and plan to return.

Fantastic view of the navy pier. Clean rooms fantastic service. Parking fee was $61 which caught me way off guard but I guess that's the nature of Chicago right?

I want to take a moment to share my EXTRAORDINARY experience with Jose from your telephone reservations team. I needed to make a couple challenging updates to my existing reservation, and somehow Jose made it an ENJOYABLE experience! 😱🎉 He was extremely professional — but so much more! He was warm, compassionate, patient, and humorous! Although I don’t check in until tomorrow, Jose inspired me to write a review of a hotel BEFORE checking in — for the first time in my life. THAT is how good Jose is!!! As a career, I lead organizational trainings on interpersonal communication and building quality relationships; Jose is already doing all the things that I train employees at top companies to do….. Whoever is in charge at the hotel would be prudent to acknowledge Jose’s great talent and contributions — because I do a LOT of traveling and can say he is FANTASTIC at what he does!!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🎉🎉🙏🏼🙏🏼

This hotel advertises a bus that leaves every 15 minutes, however on a busy, holiday Sunday, the driver decided to he would leave when he was ready (30 min after the scheduled departure time). Not a good situation when people are reliant on a set schedule to make their flights.

Great location in downtown Chicago. The parking is tricky because there’s no sign inside the parking garage that indicate where to go. I’d recommend doing the valet if possible.

I loved my stay at the Loew's but there was one thing that I did not like or appreciate. I honestly did not appreciate that they were renovating in the lobby of the hotel during Christmas time. As soon as I entered into the hotel, I could not help but to notice the black curtains that were up and the equipment present in the lobby floor. It's Christmas time and I know now was not the time to have construction in the center of the lobby, nor were customers debriefed about construction happening prior to them booking their reservations. I did not get a chance to see the nice big Christmas tree, but they did have one present in the lounge area, but not inside of the lobby. This was my first time staying at the Loew's and my first time ever in Chicago. I booked the property for it's beauty and moderization, not to enter into the space and see construction and drapery. The view from my room was incredible and soooooo nice. I loved how comfortable my bed was but the pillows could have been more fluffy, the ones I had were a little flattened. Needless to say, I had some goooood sleep and maybe it was because of the down feathered comforter!! The water pressure could have been better for the showers, but I honestly would stay here again and again. You are literally so close to all of the action and stores. I loved every moment of my stay, besides the renovations in the center of the lobby area.

Just really professional, friendly, welcoming staff. The hotel experience made me feel very special and "taken care of." I definitely would recommend staying at this hotel. The room service was also delicious :)

This our first time staying at a Loews and we really enjoyed it. The lobby is under construction, but the staff went out of their way to provide a Christmas decorated lobby in a different area. The drinks at the bar were tasty, our room was clean and well thought out, and room service even has food for pets!

But on top of all that I don’t know what I love the most - the staff or how family friendly the hotel is. This Loews truly has the friendliest most above and beyond staff of any hotel I’ve been to. Honestly! From the front desk to concierge to bartenders to housekeepers. Everyone was amazing!

As for being family friendly, they offer cribs, a cart of kids books, complimentary hot cocoa, and go above and beyond to be helpful to us (we traveled with a 9 month old).

Based on my experience here, I would try any other Loews again.

Extraordinary attention to detail across the hotel. Nothing is unintentionally designed. Form, fit and function is world class.

As a long-time patron of Loews hotels, I was shocked and appalled by the series of issues that occurred during my stay, which were not only inconvenient but also troubling in terms of service quality, safety, and overall guest experience.

1. Unprofessional and Discriminatory Treatment:
Upon check-in, I was appalled by the behavior of the front desk agent, who treated my partner in a discriminatory manner. My partner, who was the one paying for the stay, was completely ignored and treated as if he were invisible. This type of behavior is unacceptable and unprofessional, especially from a hospitality brand that prides itself on service.

2. Room Condition and Cleanliness:
The condition of the room was unacceptable. The ceiling was peeling, indicating poor maintenance. The bathroom sink was filthy, with what appeared to be months (if not years) of accumulated dirt. When I reported the issue to the manager, I was told to contact room service—something I should not have to do for a basic cleaning issue that should have been addressed during routine housekeeping.

3. Inadequate TV and Communication Service:
The TV in our room was not a smart TV, and cable service was disrupted after a storm. Despite the service being down for over 12 hours, no compensation or communication from the hotel was provided regarding this issue. I expect better service and transparency when a guest experiences such disruptions.

4. AC Issue and Unresolved Comfort Concerns:
The air conditioning in our room was ineffective. After contacting the front desk, an engineer arrived and set the AC to 60 degrees on high. Despite this, the room remained uncomfortably hot. The engineer left a fan, which was appreciated, but the lack of a proper resolution was disappointing.

5. Unsafe Wellness Check and Lack of Security Protocol:
The most concerning incident occurred on Sunday evening when a hotel staff member opened our room door without identification, stating he was performing a "wellness check." Thankfully, the door was latched, but this situation was both alarming and unprofessional. When my partner confronted the staff member in the hallway, he did not provide any identification or further explanation. Upon reporting this to the front desk, I was told it was a standard procedure if the "Do Not Disturb" sign had been up for 24 hours. However, our sign had not been up that long, and our room was directly in front of a security camera. This raises serious concerns about both security protocols and guest safety.

6. Lack of Empathy and Customer Service:
Throughout this ordeal, there was a complete lack of empathy or accountability from hotel management. When I addressed these concerns with the manager, his response was dismissive, and he did not show any willingness to resolve the issues or even acknowledge the distress caused. This is unacceptable for a hotel that claims to prioritize guest satisfaction. I will be reaching out to the BBB.
