I’ve been coming here every time I went to Chicago, and the food is always good. They don’t remember us (probably because we come 6-8 times a year) but the food is always worth it. Most of the time not that crowded, and the service is little hard to flag them over for something like water. In fact, I’m actually going back right now, last time I went was 3 months ago.

Cheap, filling, decent tasting. Meals a little slow, vegetarian options not always the best sadly!
Amazing food and great service make this spot a true gem. It wasn’t crowded, which made for a comfortable dining experience, and I even found street parking just half a block away. The food is authentic, flavorful, and served in large portions at very reasonable prices. Everything tasted fresh and satisfying, and it’s clear they put care into their dishes.
The staff were helpful in explaining the menu and guiding us on what to order, which made the whole process smooth. Service was quick, efficient, and no-frills, but always friendly. Generous portions and consistently delicious meals make this my favorite restaurant in Hyde Park.

Stop reading reviews and just get a falafel sandwich from here.

Its good only because of the steak in a sack.
That is worth it.
They changed their potato chips to regular ones.
Last time I had the steak in the sack not the best, but usually good.
Check it out for sure, but just get the steak in the sack.

Stopped by The Nile of Hyde Park for lunch and it hit the spot. I went with the Chicken Shawarma Wrap and a side of Red Lentil Soup. The shawarma was juicy and flavorful, wrapped up with fresh veggies and tahini. The lentil soup was hearty and comforting. Service was quick and friendly, and the no-frills vibe made it feel like a hidden gem. Definitely coming back for dinner next time. Highly recommend it to anyone in the area.

Falafel was so good that I want to go again. Also their orange fresh juice was. I also loved the falafel sandwich but too heavy for one person. Their hummus with tahini on top was yummy. Service was quick and fast. Would love to go again n again

Spent about $25 on the chicken shawarma platter and a side of lentil soup. The shawarma was flavorful, but the meat was a bit dry. Lentil soup was hearty and comforting. Portions were generous, and the staff was friendly. The place has a no-frills vibe, which is fine, but the ambiance could use a refresh. Overall, a decent spot for a quick Middle Eastern bite in Hyde Park.
