A great semi-private club for students, faculty and employees of the university of Chicago. Always a solid selection for craft beers and pretty solid snack options. A good hideaway when you need a break from work or reading.
I can't believe the uni has an speakeasy
Has all the elements of a good bar imo:
Good draft list ✅
Bar games ✅
Cheap good food ✅
Cozy unpretentious atmosphere ✅
Pretty much the only place to go around southern part of UChicago campus. Having said, it is a cool place to hang out as long as the preference is dark and old school.
Love the pub.I have to call out how much of a struggle it is to spend money here. I've been trying for a week to bring a group through here but nobody seems to know who the decision maker is. Take my $$$ please :(
I was allowed here last year at the anime con just for paying 3 dollars a guest and the two angry feminist tell me I can't come in because I'm not part of this university. Just cause I don't study here doesn't mean I don't belong even tho there are rules for guest could come in. I will not come here again and anyone who comes to this con should be advised that they can't come in too!! Very mad at this.
A lovely place to meet with friends or being there alone with a beer.
Great local Chicago University pub! ?
Definitely a cute place to meet friends for drinks after classes, but it can get extremely crowded.

A UChicago institution.
I love The Pub. It’s a great place to unwind and just relax
What a cool spot to spend the evening with some local friends! You need a university student, alumni, or faculty with your party to get in, and guests pay $3 at the door. Delicious food, affordable drinks, and a pool table to enjoy.
Affordable good beer, but very noisy.
