Reservation at 8:30, showed up at 8:25, got seated at the table at 9:10. Staff were relatively nice, food is ok. It’s pizza.

Being a fan of Daisies, I was excited to try this new offshoot in the old Daisies space. The menu is very Pizza-focused with the edition of some dips/appetizers and larger format items. We had the onion dip w vegetables, oysters and margarita and
mushroom pizzas. The onion dip was the Daisies onion dip, but I loved it even more with the vegetables. The presentation was excellent and it was a very delicious appetizer. The oysters were as expected, very fresh and well presented. But the real surprises were the pizza! The style of pizza is somewhere in between a Neapolitan and a Chicago Tavern style, imho. These are smaller pizzas that are cut into traditional slices, not squares, but the crust is crispy and thin, no flop 😆. Honestly, really excellent pizza and I can’t think of anywhere else in Chicago that is doing pizza that is quite like this. I will definitely go back and try some of the other versions. Definitely recommending this place.

Everything about Radicle was fantastic. Melanie, our server, did a great job even with the restaurant only being open a couple weeks. The food was incredible and a great deal. Dare I say, one of my favorite pizza in Chicago. The motz sticks with the jam were super tasty and different and the cocktails are inventive and delicious. We cannot wait to go back!

Anyone looking to make a reservation here should be aware of the business’s shady practices that are negligent at best. Clearly read in the terms and conditions when booking through OpenTable (which you are directed to from The Radicle’s website), you are required to put down a $20 deposit. It also outlines that unless you cancel within 24 hours of the reservation, you will be refunded the deposit. Unfortunately, this is a bald-faced lie. Once you’ve made the deposit, it is forfeit. Upon attempting to cancel a reservation 4 days away, the terms change inexplicably to “no shows, cancelling, or modifying will forfeit your deposit,” meaning it is forfeit regardless of when you cancel, in clear breach of the terms they outline before you make the reservation in the first place. Not even going to speak on the food, because frankly it was good but not good enough to warrant this amateurishness.

I went for dinner with two friends last night. We split the salmon tartare, shrimp cocktail, mortadella pizza, brandade, and some deviled eggs. The salmon tartare lacked so much flavor, the brandade was just creamy mashed potatoes and deviled eggs were okay. The shrimp cocktail was the best thing we tried because that mustard sauce was a flavor bomb. The pizza was fine but with all the other options in the neighborhood like Paulie Gees and Pizza Lobo, it was another miss. The cocktails were well thought out, different, and great. Overall, the food was not great but the cocktails were a hit.
