Good experience! Friendly staff! Good beer selection! I went because of a positive burger review. Good burger and fries but not stellar. Glad I went alone. A guest might have wondered what the big deal was.

We had a great time. Carmen made us custom drinks and crafted drinks to our taste. She brought the atmosphere and the cocktails. Stayed because she made me want to.

Carmen was an amazing mixologist. Do not underestimate the skills. Tell Carmen what you like and she will make you happy!! Great time!

Absolutely fantastic! WONDERFUL food & customer service. If I could give 10 stars I would. Thank you so much to Carmen behind the bar for going above & beyond and for chef Emilio for making me a vegan salad dressing (the food was SO good!!!) Thank you again!!! I will be back for sure.

Hole in the wall. No parking on a busy street.

Fun little bar. We got a beer and a cocktail. Sadly the cocktail was a bit too tart (too much lime juice not enough sugar?) And the kitchen was closed. But the bartender was super friendly and we still had a nice time.

My wife and I don't drink alcohol. We go to bars so I can write reviews, to sample bar food, to meet friends, for the conversation and atmosphere. So when I read a food critic's glowing review of the Swill Inn's signature Swill burger, I had to see and sample for myself. Located at 415 North Milwaukee Avenue, at Kinzie and Des Plaines, in the River West and Fulton River neighborhoods, it is a classic tavern with distressed brick walls and a wood bar serving burgers, oysters and other pub delicacies. For example, share the flatbread pizza with house marinara sauce, mozzarella and basil. Enjoy a fried chicken sandwich with house-made hot sauce, pickles, cole slaw and fries. And don't leave before indulging in a Swill Sundae with vanilla ice cream, roasted strawberry compote, house-made hot fudge, basil and toasted marshmallow. But we came for the signature Swill burger. The secret to this double four-ounce beef patty stack is the creamy, house-made pimento cheese that's studded with juicy jalapeno bits. It also includes American cheese, crisp house-made pickles and (your choice) bacon or fried egg on a brioche bun. With fries. When was the last time you had pimento cheese on a cheeseburger? Try it. You'll like it. Open from 5 to midnight Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 3 to midnight on Saturday and 3 to 10 on Sunday, Swill Inn reminds me of what bars were like in the 1950s and 1960s. Only with better food.

Koni is a great bartender/server, couldn’t have found a better place while laid over from Amtrak for a few hours.
