It's a beautiful space. The server was lovely and the food was delicious and nostalgic. It's a part of Chicago's history and worth a visit!

I had the French Onion Soup which was delicious. Our server, Annette was efficient and hospitable. Will be back.

Food we not good at all for rabat the hype is. The chicken was very pale and flavorless. Restaurant service was solid but the venue and experience was not fun at all or comfy.

This is always our favorite lunch experience when visiting Chicago. Beautiful setting, very good comforting menu items, and great service. Nice to enjoy the Macy's afterwards particularly the store museum on 7th floor near the restaurant

The Walnut Room is a nice place to have a special meal for a special occasion. It's a little pricey but worth the experience.

First time at the Walnut Room. It was an enjoyable brunch/lunch. We had a window seat, which was great since we were there in mid- January, after the Christmas tree removal. The service and food were good. I truly enjoyed the Strawberry Nojito and the braised beef short ribs. My daughter enjoyed the house lemonade, chicken, and waffles. We definitely will return!

The environment was lovely and the view of the city from all those beautiful large windows was spectacular. We enjoyed the decor. The food was very underwhelming, cheese on the charcuterie board tasted like it was cut days before it was served. The plates where cleared around us into big noisy buckets and made us feel a bit like we where eating in a canteen. I was a bit sad for the beautiful room that the food and service did not match the atmosphere.

Food arrival was slow. 1 meal was forgotten by staff, it had to be reordered. Follow up by wait staff was almost non existent. Drinks sat empty. Waiting for wait staff to come and see if we wanted dessert was prolonged-we opted not to prolong our stay waiting even longer if we were to have dessert then wait for our check. This visit did not live up my expectations as others might have had. Disappointed. Possibly willing to give The Walnut Room another try. The food did taste really good.

I was unfortunately disappointed in my experience here. We had a reservation and were immediately seated. We waited 15 minutes to have a waiter greet us and bring us water. We ordered an appetizer which took 30 minutes to come out. We put food in right away which took an additional 40 minutes to come out. I ordered the chicken pot pie and a side of lobster bisque soup. The chicken pot pie was unremarkable and the lobster bisque was extremely salty. I could eat the soup. My husband got the braised beef, which was hard and packed flavor. We each ordered a drink which was fine. I think for the price, it is not worth it. Between the service and food quality, I would not recommend this restaurant.

A Christmas time tradition! Fairies visit the kids and sprinkle them with pixie dust to make their wishes come true. Reasonably priced food, decent quality like chicken pot pie, burger, meat loaf, holiday drinks. Christmas decor starting around Thanksgiving. Reservations booked weeks to months in advance.

Made reservations a month or two in advance. 2 hour wait to be seated. Walked away. Kids were too hungry.

I was at The Walnut Room yesterday 12/22/25 and Carol W the hostess went above and beyond to accommodate us when I made an error with our reservation. Even during a very busy busy time, she was kind, attentive, and proactive in helping with our needs. Her positive attitude and excellent customer service truly stood out and made our experience truly magical. Carol modeled true kindness and understanding. We need more of that in our world. Thank you again!

What a great holiday tradition. Reservations opened a day early this year without warning so I was thrilled I was able to find something before Christmas.

Customer service is over the top. Pretty fairies were offering fairy dust on your meal while asking you to make a wish. Super cute for the littles.

Our waiter was amazing. Always attentive, refilled when needed, quick to take dirty plates. He made great suggestions in terms of meals and cocktails.

Cocktails were on point. Old Fashion, Eggnog, and a holiday spritz were all delicious as was the infamous pot pie and chicken salad.

We skipped dessert but lots of Frango mint options.

Macy’s will always be Marshall Fields to me. The store looked absolutely beautiful.
