The Wolfhound Pub offers a delightful experience with its exceptional food and cocktails, especially noteworthy are their espresso martinis and lemon drops which are truly outstanding. Brendan, Emily, and the entire staff create a warm and inviting atmosphere, making patrons feel right at home. Whether you're stopping by for a meal or drinks, expect nothing less than a consistently fantastic time at The Wolfhound.

I went here on St. Patty’s Day and it was a cool vibe! The server was great, food was good, and watermelon cider was crisp and smooth. I would definitely come back!

Fun spot for trivia night. Good food- the grilled cheese looks amazing- I did not order it yet but wish I did! Good prices.

Went to Wolfhound for Restaurant Week brunch and enjoyed a delicious meal with the breakfast sandwich. I'm not normally a big fan of breakfast potatoes, but here they were perfect. The cupcake was excellent with delicious frosting but my favorite is everything was the housemade jam. The jam was just amazing.

Overall the experience was just okay. We had high hopes based on the reviews but were sadly disappointed that we had spent a Restaurant Week pick on this place when we really could have gone any old night. We visited for restaurant week because with 4.8 stars, I assume even if it is pub food, they must be smashing it.The atmosphere is a typical pub environment, noise level is on the high side but tolerable. The server was polite enough, if not particularly proactive, and we were happy to find two choices for NA beers. More would have been great, there are so many good ones now (and it is dry January) but two is not bad.The menu looked slightly more interesting than average pub food but very few vegetarian or healthy options. Items like fried brie instead of the typical fried cheese curds and togarashi chicken instead of wings (turns out they were out of the togarashi so we ended up with standard ranch and buffalo sauce on chicken tenders instead, meh). The salads were just okay, reminiscent of an old school pizza parlor, not the modern complex and multidimensional salads that are found on lots of menus today. Two of the items on the Restaurant Week menu that we ordered they were out of, which would have been fine if the server told us at the time of ordering, or shortly after, however we were not informed until well past time that they should have already arrived. The only vegetarian entree item on the menu, which I ordered, we waited an hour to receive before we were told it was unavailable. I ordered the mahi mahi instead which was overcooked and desperately wanted a sauce to liven it up.The saving grace was the amazing potatoes and the French Dip sandwich. The potatoes were perfectly cooked, piping hot, and delightfully crusty with flaky salt. The beef in the sandwich was melt-in-your mouth tender and the au jus was flavorful. The apple tart dessert was also delightful.I would call this a fine neighborhood pub but not really 4.8 stars on any metric outside of beef and potatoes.

The food here is incredible. I've been going for years. full Irish breakfast is awesome, baked potato soup and the ribeye are so good I have to make sure not to go too too often. Everything is really high quality for the price too. The chef is awesome, met him out and about in Avondale.

A great Irish bar in the Avondale neighborhood! The food is top flight and the drinks are fantastic. Wonderful spot to drop in for brunch or a hearty lunch/dinner. If you are looking for a proper pour of Guinness, look no further. The full Irish breakfast is my go to. They spare no expense. Black and white pudding, rashers, sausages, homemade baked beans (much better than Heinz) and everything else. The portions are HUGE.My wife and I have recently been stopping in for the traditional Irish music sessions on Thursdays. Generally, a great group of musicians stop in and play some wonderful toe taping tunes. This is a drop in musical session, so there are no guarantees who and how many musicals will be there. But nothing goes with a Guinness like a good Irish music session. Even the owner drops in to play a few tunes!Brendon, the owner, is a wonderful guy. He cares a lot about his establishment and workers. Every time we've gone he's been an active participant in all the tasks. I've seen him serving food and drinks, bussing tables and hauling food from trucks. You can tell her really loves his business and his customers. Both my wife and I are born and raised in Avondale/Logan Square. We never thought we'd have a proper Irish bar in our neck of the woods. We are so pleased to have a business like the Wolfhound in the Avondale/Logan Square area. Keep up the good work and great food!Vegetarian options: The staff is super friendly and would be more than happy to answer any questions about food preparation and ingredients.Parking: Free parking on Belmont.

Ate here 12/1/2023, a few more times since then. Today is 12/29.The all American burger is, hands down, the best burger I’ve had in Chicago and one of the best I’ve ever had. I was totally lost in the sauce while enjoying it.Toppings: lettuce, tomato, mayo, onion, pickle, cheese.Server was super attentive. Chef came out a bit later and was cool af, chatting with guests and whatnot.AND they were cool about making me cheladas. This will be the new post-gym go-to.

The pan-seared chicken breast is the best piece of chicken that I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The green beans and potatoes au gratin that come with the main course are great as well. I’ve already come back to eat and have a beer here. Awesome neighborhood

The full Irish pizza was really good. The crust was awesome and the toppings were not too much. The owners Brenden and his wife is a very nice people. They are testing out some catering options which I highly recommend hitting them up about. They are super and efficient. They even come to our events and cook on location.
