Uncle J's closed down on October 09, 2022. I was was not shocked by the news. In the past few years, his health has been declining . He wasn't his usual and sometimes nasty attitude self. His meat was tender and the portions were generous. Well, I wish him God's speed .
Caribbean Family owned bbq joint, hot links, turkey tips and rib tips were definitely the things to have. The rib tips were very much like full ribs and the sauce was spicy and sweet. I would almost say get the sauce on the side if you can’t take too much heat or eat the bread provided. But if you get the sauce on the side then you miss out on getting the sauce soaked fries at the bottom of the tray…don’t miss those. The sides of coleslaw were small but definitely a treat...
If you want good BBQ THIS IS IT! No call in orders or use if fancy technology here. Just good ole fashion smoked to perfection barbecue. Definitely my favorite in all of the city. We eat here at least once a week. Be sure to order your food but be specific how you want it. I usually get the rib tips and link combo, fries on top and baptized in that amazing home made bbq sauce.
