Service on a Monday was rough, very unfriendly server who rarely checked in on us and spent most of the time chatting and hanging out in the service station. Three out of the 6 beers we tried to order were kicked (were not told any beers kicked beforehand). Food portions small for the price, however food was quite tasty.

If you like whiskey, terrific food, & good vibes - this is the place! We found out about this place from our amex concierge ; as we didn’t have time to find a place for dinner traveling from Dallas to Chicago ; my husband and I were swamped with work.
We live in Texas so whiskey drinking is a pretty big culture here, the fact that they had so many amazing whiskeys available already put this at 5 stars. We tried the Eagle Rare 17 year, loved it! I think we almost ordered everything off the menu, minus 2-3 items ; everything was delicious! Especially the lamb meatballs! Our server was a delight ; sadly I forgot her name but she was so much fun to talk to!
My brother in law & his fiancée live in Chicago and have never heard of this place, it is now a place they say will become a regular rotation spot of theirs.

So me and a friend were having an admittedly loud conversation about how we would smuggle abortion pills into the deep south when the matron showed up with our check and said our conversation was “inappropriate.”

Great service and atmosphere. Food is good, but not great. Expensive and on top of it they have a 5% restaurant surcharge which feels excessive.

First time. Liked the vibe. Attentive service. Great whisky and rye list. Fried olives brought us in and were delicious. Liked the trout dip and I don’t usually get into that. Gem salad needed more flavor. Sausages for Oktoberfest were fine but the mustard was a bit dull, onion jam was great. Linguine with boquerones a solid finish. Communal table more comfortable than expected. Parking is rough. Expect to be a few blocks away.

Food is always delicious. Creative and also tasty. Never been disappointed. The burger is one of my favorites in Chicago and the date cake pudding might be my favorite dessert in Chicago as well.

As a member of Logan Square Preservation, I recently attended one of our events at Union in Logan Square, and I was truly wowed by the experience. The decor is stylish and inviting, the service was incredibly friendly, and the snacks were a highlight—especially the beautifully arranged charcuterie boards. If you're a fan of cocktails, the Journeyman Old Fashioned is a must-try! Union is a perfect spot for an intimate gathering or event.

Food and vibe was amazing. Only issue was being up charged $4 to get a salad on the side instead of the potatoes after the waitress said it was a $2 up charge. Also the salad was comically small so I was a little turned off by that.

Really good vibes and great food. Got the burger, pork chop, and sticky toffee dessert. The pork chops were my favorite, I highly recommend. Everything else was yummy as well! I would go back again
Such an awesome find!!! My wife and I found this place while waking around waiting for another local spot to open up and were very pleasantly surprised. We had the broccolini, lamb meatballs, and the union burger and everything was absolutely epic!!! Will definitely be coming back to try more of the menu.

We were looking for a nice place to go for an after dinner drink while on vacation. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Betsy was helpful with our teen getting a great mocktale, so she did not feel left out. They had a great looking dinner menu, and we may need to go back.

It absolutely pains me to give this place 3 stars. The service and ambiance are really wonderful, and it feels like a place that should provide a fantastic dining experience. But a restaurant has to be judged by the quality of its food, and, in that domain, Union fell short.
Despite pricing its offerings at the level of other “New American” restaurants in Chicago (think: Au Cheval, Loyalist, Gretel), Union’s food isn’t competitive. The burger is a well-done, Hardee’s whopper with onion straws, and their potatoes are pretty, but poorly seasoned, mushroom-like globs of unsalted potential. The hush puppies taste like the Jimmy Kimmel of wasabi; boring and inoffensive.
Finally, the vegetable options were lackluster. Broccolini with tahini sauce, fried olives, and cucumber salad? The restaurant appears to be suffering an identity crisis; either get a shawarma roasting spit or buy a bottle of caesar dressing.
Again, the service was great. The beer was really good. But the chef needs to be replaced before I can recommend Union.
