We had a very upsetting experience at Vinci tonight (Wednesday, November 26, 2025 around 5pm). Because one of our group uses a walker, we had to use the accessible entrance, which is some distance from the main entrance. It’s off the alley and very poorly lit. It is also uneven and the woman who was ahead of us (who uses a cane) tripped on the uneven concrete and had a very serious fall. We were able to help her up and into the restaurant with no assistance from staff. The woman had obvious signs of head and shoulder trauma.
When we were in the restaurant, the staff seemed mostly indifferent to the woman’s plight, with the notable exception of the bartender, who called an ambulance. They ignored her and didn’t seem particularly concerned about her. They also seemed to blow off our report about the unsafe condition of the accessible entrance. This should have been a situation where a manager got involved, but no one seemed to care. And it’s not because they were very busy.
I would be hesitant to dine here again and definitely not with someone who needed accessibility accommodations. They seem to not take accessibility or customer welfare all that seriously.

Unfortunately, the accessible entrance is not actually accessible. There is no exterior lighting and one of the slabs of concrete was cracked, leaving a big bump where we saw someone trip and take a nasty fall (requiring medical attention).
The food was pretty good, though.
I went there on a Groupon deal for brunch and it felt like an Italian villa. The food was terrific. Loved their Guava Bellini and the breakfast pizza. The make your own frittata was also yum! Our server was fun and funny! The bar area is cute to sit in. And location so convenient right next to steppenwolf theater! @chicagopescetarian

Best food. Best service. Bartenders Clyde and Francisco are the best. Couldn’t recommend this place more.

First time here! I am sure the other wait staff is great but Clyde is super fantastic! he made out dining experience fun and we would go back in a heart beat. The Arancini are some of the best ever! its no wonder this establishment has been in business so long.

Came in for a quick dinner before the Chicago Film fest. Sat down at the bar. The staff was nice and service was quick. My friend ordered the rigatoni. I ordered the arancini. They food was pretty good. The food came out fast. Also enjoyed a glass of wine. It's a pretty spacious place. There are private rooms in the back. It's a cozy feel, tons of tables.

Wow!! I was greatly surprised by this place. I came here during their happy hour. Had to get a 12 dollar pizza. I also got a pasta short rib and hand made noodles and arancini. Everything was delightful. The wait staff were a bit hesitant about me at first because I was filming but they were super friendly, helpful, and nice to me about everything. Overall a wonderful experience and will be back very soon to film another food review ❤️

Lives true to its name. Rustic ambiance with an Italian-like interior.
I got a ‘Purple Flower’ drink which was out of the world. I loved it.
For starters, got the grilled sausages- 5/5.
The penne pasta tasted authentic- 5/5.
And the Salsiccia pizza was good-3.5/5.
Oh the tiramisu tasted AMAZING.
The service was over the top.

Menu not properly marked for a pork allergy. And I was still charged for it. My replacement meal was a greasy veal cutlet.

I was there for over an hour and only saw our server once it was almost 40 minutes before he even came over to take our drink order. They gave you bread to start and it was awful and old. Ordered mussels and they tasted old as well. The pappardelle was very good!

Had a fantastic dinner at Vinci Restaurant near Steppenwolf Theatre. Started with the arancini, which were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. For the main course, I had the veal piccata, tender and full of flavor. The ambiance is rustic and cozy, perfect for a date night. Service was attentive and friendly. A bit on the pricier side, but worth every penny for the quality and experience.

Proper aldente pasta with extra cheese, the variety could please everyone and they have GF options. The service was quick and efficient, we liked the decorations and ambience. My glass of bubbly was a bit flat but they replaced it with no further questions. Definitely would be back

Have dined at Vinci twice and I couldn’t help but writing a rave review after 2 wonderful visits. The staff is friendly and welcoming and offered great suggestions to our dinner and wine order. The food is so delicious and home cooked with a ton of love. Cannot recommend the pappardelle enough - soo delicious and cozy. Can’t recommend this neighborhood restaurant enough! Will be returning again soon!

Such a local gem of a place, great fur before or after theater, delicious food and delightful staff. Feels very neighborhood in the best way. Hopefully Clyde is working behind the bar when you are there, he's great..
I ordered the chicken saltimbocca, which looked barely cooked. Upon cutting into it, it was undercooked and pink. The waiter, who was great, offered me something else from the menu. I chose the sausage and peppers. Again, my meal was undercooked. The waiter refused to let us pay for either item. I honestly don't understand so many positive reviews.
