The food here was tasty and the service was polite. However, I witnessed something extremely unhygienic. I saw a male staff member come out from the kitchen and go into the women’s restroom. When I went in afterwards, I found the toilet seat hadn’t been lifted — and urine was splashed all over. This is really unacceptable for a restaurant, especially when staff are handling food. I hope management takes hygiene more seriously, because it ruined an otherwise pleasant dining experience.

This was the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to in my life. The food was the worst and the flies were gigantic and flying everywhere. Wait staff did not understand what the problem was. All establishment should have a person of color to help them out. Cause this was the worst. Never will recommend this location to anyone. My entire family hated it.

This is a good value authentic Chinese restaurant. I would recommend you check this place out for all occasions. Make sure to book in advanced for large parties as this space gets crowded.

First time at this restaurant. The food was good and the service was excellent. It was a little busy when I was there. We tried the chicken, vegetables, and fish. They were all fresh and good. Would recommend this place.

Great place for authentic Cantonese food. Excellent service. They have a secret menu eel dish which is a bit pricey, but very unique. It’s rare to find such kind of eel in the US. Other than that, everything on the regular menu is reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

The best Chinese food in Chicago!!! This place is always packed but the wait is worth it. I recommend the lobster sticky rice, any of the salt and pepper dishes, the chicken and tripe soup, and iced lemon tea. I have tried so many of their dishes throughout the years and there was never a miss. Loved going here for dates, celebrations, or just any occasion.

I came here with my friends to celebrate my birthday, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, the service was incredible, so welcoming, attentive, and kind. The food? Absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We came in with empty stomachs and left full, happy, and in the best mood.
What truly stood out was how thoughtful and accommodating the staff were. We had ordered a lobster sticky rice dish, and after it arrived, we realized it had pork in it, which I can’t eat for dietary/religious reasons. The team was beyond understanding. They took the dish back without hesitation and kindly remade it without pork. They never made me feel uncomfortable about it, which I deeply appreciated.
To top it all off, they surprised me with a free dessert for my birthday, which was such a sweet touch. They truly went above and beyond to make the night special.
Thank you to the amazing staff for making my birthday so memorable. I’ll absolutely be coming back, and bringing more friends with me next time!

The place was amazing! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the wonderful aroma of delicious dishes—a perfect welcome that set the tone for our visit. The food itself lived up to the enticing smell and truly exceeded our expectations.
But I also want to highlight the real superheroes behind this experience: the wonderful staff! They were incredibly helpful and respectful, especially when we made a special request.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience. I highly recommend bringing your family and friends here for an excellent time.

This covers 4 visits over a 3 month period and while I really like JM, that comes with an asterisk. The clientele is mostly Chinese and the place keeps getting more popular, so most evenings you will have to wait for a table if you arrive after 6. The Twin Lobster Sticky Rice is the star and is reliably delicious. You will see that on most tables. The asterisk is because JM will adjust your food based on what they think you want. Not unusual, just beware. One of our 4 meals was bland and disappointing so we had a talk and got that fixed. Following meals were great. Can't wait to go back!
