“Went here for lunch because I was in the area and was told that it was a good burger spot. I ordered the regular cheeseburger with a side of onion rings and a Dr. Pepper. I was very impressed with the burger, as it had a large patty with a lot of flavor and two different types of cheese. The bun was also very soft and toasted on one side. I was also quite impressed with the well fried onion rings. The atmosphere in this establishment was quite nice, however it was a bit quiet for my taste. The only criticism I had was that the sodas were sold per can and there was no fountain options. It is also worth mentioning that they only accept cash which was a slight disappointment. Overall worth visiting”

“Visited the Clubhouse Coal City with former classmates tonight & had an absolutely awesome dinner. Bloody Mary was top notch & one of our friends ordered a caramel Apple Martini that looked scrumptious 🥰 I ordered the much talked about ribs & was not disappointed ❣️❣️❣️They were fall off the bone tender; dripping with deliciousness ❤️❤️The sauce was a fabulous complex of flavors that satisfies every point on your palate - a 10 star delight on a plate🤩🤩 Salad was super fresh with just the right amount of added extras 😉I ordered the mashed potatoes & again the seasoning was right on point. Service was excellent 😍 I guarantee you I will be back, with more people, as this restaurant does not disappoint!!!”

“We walked in and were asked what we wanted to order immediately. We ordered and were told to have a seat, and our food would be right out. Our server brought our food out in less than 5 minutes. We were served with a courteous smile and thanked for our purchase. Another employee came by to make sure everything was fine and asked if we needed anything else. About 5 minutes later, our server came by and asked if we needed anything else. The service and food were excellent, and our visit was very pleasant.”

“For anyone who may have been misinformed. Whistle Stop Cafe in DIAMOND, IL is not closed. It is still thriving and still has great food at even better prices. Yes, there is another restaurant in Canada that closed. Same name, different owners (different family entirely).”

“Went for date night last night and 10/10 highly recommend! From the food to the service, everything was incredible! The limoncello martini is the best martini I’ve ever had and very fresh tasting. My husband and I shared a Gorgonzola salad and calamari to start with. The salad was really good and I loved that they used pears in it. Calamari was good and we got a large portion. For a main course, I got the short rib Gorgonzola pasta dish with mushrooms and it was delicious. My husband got the shrimp ravioli diablo. Slightly spicy if you like things on the spicier side but the sauce complimented the cheese ravioli very well. For dessert, I got the citrus mascarpone cake and my husband got the tiramisu, both were so delicious! We were so full we packed up leftovers but an hour after we got home, we devoured the rest of our desserts. Highly recommend and will be back!”

“The building is due for a paint job, but inside the dining area is clean and bright and very comfortable for dining. Reasonable prices on a page of sandwiches and the same for the chicken dinners. The soup is served hot, thick, and full of substance. The chicken arrive hot with a nice crisp coating and moist tender meat inside. Several dessert pies to choose from. (We had to get pie, it was 3/14 Pi day) and ours was fresh/delicious. Plenty of parking and a great place to eat after a day of antiquing.”

“Perhaps it’s the atmosphere that attracts the most. It is a reminder of past times with parents going out for the occasional meal in the neighborhood tavern. This is that local tavern with great meals and friendly service. Fortunately for some, not so for others, the aroma of stale beer and cigarettes has somehow been scrubbed from the building leaving only the smells from a great kitchen. Please understand sullen people need not eat here.”

“Tiffany was beyond amazing! We had our daughter’s 6th birthday party here. It was such a lovely time. They were able to eat and play games and it felt super nostalgic with all of the new arcade games. The best part about it was how wonderful Tiffany was. I was able to take photos and enjoy time with my daughter because she was behind the scenes helping SO much in every single way. She helped with the presents, served the ice, helped clean everything up, etc. She was there the entire time helping and assisting with everything and it was so nice. She also was quick to help store cake (and use her containers!) when we didn’t finish all of it. I would HIGHLY recommend birthday parties here! Or just stopping in for a sweet treat while downtown. Thank you so much, Tiffany! You are a complete gem. :)”
