“We are full-time RVers who, while traveling around the US, are in search of the best cheeseburger and have a rating system of The Best (only 1 rated), Very Good, Good, OK, and Not Impressed. While at our home base in Southern Illinois, we were in the Columbia, IL, area and Googled “hamburger restaurants.” We saw Washy’s Pub had good burger reviews, so decided to give them a try for lunch. Washy’s has a simple bar atmosphere with about a dozen tables. We ordered their Classic burger with me having American cheese and my wife pepperjack. We also requested lettuce, pickles, and sliced onions. The handmade patties were about 10 oz (good sized), nicely seasoned, cooked to order, charbroiled, and served on a nicely-toast fresh bun. I had their skinny-style battered fries and my wife had onion rings. The burgers came out hot and were super tasty due the meat seasoning. We’re not sure what seasoning they used, but it worked! My wife’s burger was just a tiny bit better than mine due the pepperjack they use. The fries and onion rings were among the best we’ve had as well. We rated the burgers (even without a special sauce), fries, and onion rings Very Good. The service was also top notch.“

But when it came to the food. Whew my feelings were hurt the brisket was flavorless and dry 😭 Nothing like what I saw in the review. Ribs were tender but i was not blown away by them, sides were the same as well. Maybe it was bad Timing but this was a big let down. Consistency is the key to a good restaurant. “I walked into this bakery and was instantly taken back to the German bakery I grew up with. It smelled heavenly. I've never seen so many beautiful cookies! I got the coconut pineapple cheese coffeecake and an old fashioned cheesecake. Plus I got a cheese Danish for the road. It's all so good.“

“Amazing food - best Persian-style cuisine in STL so far and some of the best anywhere we've traveled. Saffron chicken kebab was beyond tender and so flavorful. Their version of biryani was delicious, too, and the gyro was solid. The sambosas were a great starter, and even the fries that came with the gyro were good. We'll be back to try more dishes soon!“

“We are new to the area and after trying many different places while getting settled in, Cellar House slipped past our radar. We thought that Oakville was actually lacking a restaurant with good food, WE WERE WRONG! This place hits every nail on the head with everything we ordered. The shrimp’n grits rivaled the best I have ever had, and the ribeye was cooked to perfection with an amazing crust that you should be tasting as you’re reading. The best part is this was a carry out order picked up spur of the moment and was still knocked out of the park. I can’t wait to go back and dine in!“

“APOLLONIA is a fun place with great food! The staff is always attentive and friendly. The gyros and gyro salads are generous. The rest of the menu is full of fun stuff to try too. Every time I go there the it's been a clean and well kept dining space as well. Really hard to beat it!

“Onesto is fabulous. We have been visiting for years, and it is always good. The pizza is really good and a large is very generously sized. They are known for their Sangria, which is constantly in rotation. All the kinds we have tried have been great. Their beer and wine selections are very good too.“

“Every Mexican restaurant I go to, I always try the Chimichangas first. I did a pick up order. The Chimichangas had no cheese on top. I asked where was the cheese sauce, they pointed that it was located at the bottom. It was good but not the best I’ve had. Disappointed especially since it’s called CHIMICHANGAS 😂“

“I googled best wings in my area, and this place did not disappoint. While I miss the good Ole days of $.50 and $1 wings and was reluctant to spend $17.99 for 10, those things were huge and delicious! I added a basket of fries and almost couldn't finish them both. I'll be back!

Kid-friendliness: I feel comfortable bringing my 6-year-old son here. They have a couple of claw machine games and plenty of t.v.s. I'm sure they could throw some SpongeBob on one.“

He is a very Jolly man (not referring Santa Clause). Waffle was very delicious. He will serve your food fast and make you happy in every way! He has a very nice trimmed beard. “This is one of the family's many restaurants around STL, but this place is the Daddy of the all. The other locations try to replicate this restaurant but have failed.

This place is the entire package, it is laid back, great food (best wing in the STL bar none), nice layout, corner supports bar. Everyone is super friendly, plenty of TV's, food is excellent, the atmosphere is electric, games for the kids, decently priced, cold drinks, outdoor patio if it's decent out - it's all that and a bag of chips.“
