50 Best Vegetarian Restaurants in St. Louis

“A friend and I went out on a Sunday evening to celebrate my student loans being forgiven and her move to a new condo. I made the reservation well in advance and looked over the menu to see what I might want.

We got there when they opened. Our table was right by the bartender in the front area, and due to all the shaken cocktails, it was intermittently difficult to hear each other. We did all right, though, sharing about our lives, mutual friends, and upcoming plans. We had some edamame and roasted Brussels sprouts, steamed buns, and a maki roll apiece. We also each ordered the Chop Shop, a cocktail/mocktail that went towards an employee's top surgery. Always nice to support other trans folks and businesses that behave like real allies.

The price was completely reasonable for what we ordered. It's certainly a place I'll return to when there's something else to celebrate. But I'll try to get a seat away from the bartender.“

“Songbird is our favorite breakfast/brunch spot in STL. My girlfriend and I have been going every Sunday for nearly a year now and it never gets old. The service, food, and of course coffee are all incredible. Chris in the team are so friendly and accommodating to all guests and leave a lasting impression on everyone who walks through the door. The Combo sandwich is the best breakfast sandwich in the area and everything on the menu is delicious and reasonably priced. If you are looking for a great breakfast spot, check them out, but try and get there early or make a reservation as I am not the only one who holds them in this high of a regard. Keep up the great work and looking forward to many more visits to come.“

“What a cute little shop! I love a dainty sandwich shop. ☺️They have other food too of course. I got the sandwich that had the prosciutto and it was so great ?. Very filling. Really only need half I’d say. Also it came out really fast. Also got the coffee soda ☕️?because it sounded super unique!! That was a little odd though lol kinda just tasted like orange soda. But I applaud them for trying! It’s a small spot but they have a decent amount of bar seating! Would definitely come back to try their pizzas because those looked amazing lol.“

“There are not enough stars to rate Katie’s. I needed a place to accommodate a large but unconfirmed number of guests for my husband’s retirement lunch. I spoke with Janelle a few times and she listened to everything I had to say. I was concerned about people traveling from all over and not having a precise headcount. We opted for a reservation in the main dining area and Janelle, Simon and the entire staff exceeded every expectation I could have had. They helped move tables around as more people showed up, they gave great food recommendations and were overall just very helpful and personable. They even treated our group to complimentary tiramisu and ricotta donuts. The mascarpone crema was incredible. I don’t know when we will be back in St. Louis but Katie’s is already on the agenda! Thank you again for such a wonderful experience!“

“We wanted Italian food and we decided to go on the hill to Zia‘s. We ordered pasta dishes, which was extremely nice portion size. The bread was delicious when you dip it in olive oil. I also had the French martini which was delicious. I think if you have a taste for Italian food pasta, you couldn’t find a better place.“

“It's alright. It's a cool place to come hang out. Food is subpar for the pricing. People are pretty cool and the drinks are fun. The atmosphere is like back in the day Starbucks like 2003 where all you see is depression and loneliness from Chad and becky sitting outside on their laptop being creative and stuff. You know? It's like when you meet some new people but have a feeling you'll get sued for wearing a non-Chad outfit or something...nomsayin? But it's definitely a date place if you want to impress your hard earned gold digger date. You'll spend enough where she thinks she snagged a daddy and you'll get some after maybe. Good luck!“

“Bartolinos South is our favorite nice restaurant. Not only is the food consistently wonderful but they always work to please you. We celebrate all special occasions there. Recently we reserved their front room which holds a max of 16, I believe. They went out of their way to make the setting perfect (even bringing in a small table for our use). Our waiter, Karen, was discreet in providing us perfect service without interrupting our shared conversation/memories as we were toasting a dear friend on her birthday. I can’t say enough about how flawless they made our luncheon. Bartolinos will remain our favorite not only for the quality of the food but for their personal attention.“

“I had the shrimp boil and the Brussel sprouts and potatoes that were crispy were fantastic. The sausage was a Great blend of flavor and heat. The shrimp were terrific. The lemon and wet towel was a superb ending I received much joy having clean hands at the table.the catfish was excellent I tried it.Loved the atmosphere and decor. “Half & Half was a great change from the traditional large chain breakfast restaurants. They're pretty busy on weekend mornings so put yourself on the waiting list and time your arrival and all will be well. We love breakfast food, I've tried a number of the morning breakfast items. We've visited 3 times in the last 2 weeks!“

“It was really good food and we were happy with it. Came for downtown restaurant week and tried a special. Only gripe was that we asked for one order of dumplings so we were confused when they came out with 3 for some reason. The server was nice but the order wasn’t read back to us so we weren’t aware of any misunderstanding. It tacked on an extra unexpected $20+ to the bill, which put a little damper on things, but I guess we had the chance to say something and just let it go. It’s a little frustrating but overall things were fine.“

“This place was terrific!! We ate here yesterday and the food was wonderful. Friendly staff and even though there was a sign asking patrons to be patient with any delays due to limited staffing, it did not impact any aspect of our visit. I would strongly recommend giving this place your business and support locally owned establishments.“

“I can't believe this place is rated under 4 stars, because we couldn't have had a better experience here. The good was fresh and delicious and of great quality. The parmasean french fries were a highlight! We had great service too. I don't think that it is overpriced, but maybe I'm unfamiliar with usual Missouri prices? Regardless, it was of quality we would expect from a nicer hotel restaurant, obviously not a Ritz, but it wasn't priced that way either. I would definitely recommend coming here if you are staying at the Moonrise or seeing a show at the Pageant.“

“BLK MKT has been one of my go to places for year so I was kind of worried when they moved locations.

But they are still absolutely killing it and the food and service is fantastic.

If you like sushi or poke bowls give this place a visit. Hell even if you don't they can probably change your opinion“

“Tonight our pickup order was about 20 min late. Apparently there was a new cook doing the dumplings. We just want the new cook to know that you may have had a tough night, but your dumplings were excellent. Thanks!“

The lady on the grill is fast and percise. It was great to see how they all wirked together to keep people happy and feed in a fast moving diner to get more and more customers through.The best staff. They were so sweet and funny. They also do carryout. Will definitely come back every time we come to St. Louis. 5 stars all the way.“

“We really enjoyed out dinner at Broadway Oyster Bar. We sat out on the patio and the atmosphere is very fun with a dive beach party vibe. The oysters were fantastic. We also had fried alligator, Catfish nuggets, and jambalaya. All the dishes were very tasty. The service was great and very friendly. We had rum runners and the drinks were delicious and potent. It was our first time here and we were made to feel right at home. Looking forward to our next meal here.“

“Great burgers! I LOVED my TriPPPy burger which has a pineapple chutney and bacon jam. You will want extra napkins with that one.? My husband built his own burger to get just what he wanted and enjoyed his burger. They also have veggie options, but these carnivores did not explore them.“

“A fun night out. We had three seats. When we got there, people were seated at our table requiring our group to sit separately. While that allowed me to chat with others, perhaps reserved seating would be more accommodating.They cleared plates without asking if people were done. So, people came back from the drink line to their food gone. The bartender acted as they she was irritated by having customers.The actors were friendly.“

“I finally made it and really it’s worth 100 stars , The chicken salad is probably the best salad in Stl , everything about it is perfect , chicken soo good , lettuce chopped with tons of parsley, all ingredients top notch and the dressing is excellent. I had the spinach pie for dinner and it is heaven . I’ve already planned on nesting 2 sets of ppl there! Can’t wait to go back!“

“We recently moved to the area from Florida and were in search of great St. Louis BBQ. We dined at many establishments and though the food was good, we were not wowed until now. Dalie's Smokehouse Was exceptional. The food was phenomenal and the customer service and attentiveness were superb. You could tell that thw folks at Dalie’s didn’t just want our business, they wanted us to have a wonderful experience and to become a part of the family. We found our spot. See you again real soon.“

“I’ve ignored this place over the decades, assuming it was a typical dive bar. A friend assured me the food was great and I should try it. Understatement! Believe it or not I’m a hypercritical person but I could find no fault at Michael’s. During both of my visits, everything everyone ordered was cooked and seasoned beautifully. So far I can highly recommend the Greek salad (standout among the large number of Greek salads I’ve tried), the rack of lamb and the galaktoboureko - a house-made dessert consisting mainly of a fluffy custard and phyllo dough. Even the side vegetables and rice were wonderful. The beer and wine selection was good as well and I wrote down my wine to look into buying a bottle. The many servers were extremely busy and professional and our server Amy did a helluva job. Large rack of lamb with sides, entree-sized Greek salad, two beers, wine and dessert for only $80 -which for the quality of our dinner was quite a bargain. Generic name belies quality cooking and serving! Pass it on!“
