50 Best Chinese Restaurants in St. Louis

“Well I had my usual Chinese craving that always comes at least once a month. It had been a couple days before I could finally get the time to go get some Chinese. Luckily, for me when this time came I was door dashing in U-City, because I came across this hidden gem. The restaurant itself looks very deceiving, but I had read the reviews so I knew better. I ordered the dinner special broccoli chicken and was surprised that I could add Lo Mein instead of the traditional rice as a side. It was $3 more but well worth it. It also came with a spring roll which was the only thing that I wasn't impressed with. The whole meal cost just under $14 which was well worth it. I also will say this, I ordered carry out and walked quite away back to my car. When I did get back to my car, and went to eat my food, it was so hot that if I hadn't tested it first, it would have given me 3rd degree burns in my mouth. No joke! I have no idea how they had gotten my food so hot, but it was by far the hottest food I've ever experienced and it took quite awhile for it to cool down enough to even begin to eat it. With all this said, this by far was the best Chinese food I've ever eaten! And I've eaten at a lot of different Chinese restaurants. I believe the gravy the food was prepared in was what made the difference and off the chain delicious. I would highly recommend eating here often and yes as soon as I'm anywhere near U-City I'll be stopping in to get more food from here. 5 stars all day long!“

“All the best food spots in STL are in questionable locations! ?? I grew up eating Ho's, so I'm definitely biased, but it's definitely a great spot for Asian food! The staff is sassy, but for good reason. They have to deal with the characters in my old neighborhood. Great food here if you are in the area!“

“This is a terrific Asian take-out place. All the dishes I've ordered have been very good, no disappointments, with a very wide variety of dishes on the menu. Portions are terrific, and the price to quality ratio is very good, very reasonable. The staff is just wonderful, they always have a smile ready and I always walk out knowing they appreciate my business. The parking is very ample, never a problem. The dining space is sparse, but that's not their business model; they are primarily for take-out. My favorite place for Asian take-out.“

“I'm from St Louis, and we have a very different kind of Chinese food here. And this one is very good and not in the best area but guess what. The Food is GREAT ?. All the old school Chinese taste ? The St Paul was really good. Wow ?“

“Staple takeout place for us, we probably get it 5-6x a year. Sesame chicken, orange chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, pork fried rice, crab rangoons and egg rolls are all great. I get the Kung Pao because it's loaded with fresh vegetables and has a nice spice level (just enough!). We only do takeout and always call ahead, and it's always ready on time and they've never messed up an order.“

“A review mostly about their durian cake: Took a chance and was quite pleased by the outcome. Real durian chunks mixed with durian cream in the center layer with typical not-to-sweet whipped cream outer layer and topping with some fruits. The cake consistency was similar to your typical castella or sponge cake. Very bouncy and light.

Amazingly quick turnaround. I called right when they opened and they had it ready for pick up same day at 4 pm.

They also offer taro fruit cake but the manager recommends calling at least a day or two prior for preparation. Will have to try that one next to relive my childhood taro cake memories :)

“This little gem ? was a wonderful place to stop in for you favorite Chinese take out. The establishment is very clean. The lobby and restrooms were sparkling. Service is friendly, efficient, and customer focused. The food was really fresh and tasty. We got the appetizer sampler, cashew shrimp, and pepper steak. There was way more food than 2 people could eat for lunch. We chose to dine in and their presentation was lovely! It felt much more elevated than a typical strip mall take out shop. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who has a craving for plump rangoons and tasty fried rice.

“In the majority of these restaurant/Chinese....what's to be expected but you either call your order in before you go, or order when you get there. The services are not like a real restaurant...hell you can even go to the restrooms in the majority of them. The food is cooked to order and usually be reasonably-priced and good. I can't say even say if they are rude...I have never been treated rude here, your service is simple "How can I help you "give you a total, you pay. You either get a number or they call out what your order number, you get your bag, check it and go. The majority of the places you stand and wait on your food and go. I can say...in the City for me the food is better....at the majority of the all Chinese restaurants. Everyone has their favorite one to go too...but by far the City's restaurants are better.“

“My husband and I have been exclusively ordering take out from Here for 40 years. Rhe food is always great and they are so accommodating that when we moved slightly out of their delivery area in 98 they continued to delivery to us anyway. Love this place! Ordering tonight!“

“I ordered Harold's Chinese food yesterday and was well pleased! Everything was delicious. I ordered the hot braised chicken platter with shrimp fried rice, and crab ragoon. The crab ragoon was sweet, but not too sweet and had a nice balance. I also ordered vegetable egg rolls which were very tasty and crispy. I was very pleased and will definitely eat there again!“

“Best Chinese food in Saint Louis. Best St. Pauls, rice, Rangoons, and eggrolls. Call ahead of time, it won't take that long. When you driving by, don't blink or you'll miss it. Parking "lot" is super small, just get in when you can. And it's one of the last places that still give you a free drink when you spend over $10!! Only thing is the hot wings. They're dry, no sauce. Not my thing, but the wings were still cool.“

“King Doh has really good food that has been consistent for many years. Our server was attentive and timed bring out the courses just right. We enjoyed soup, appetizers & our main entrees individually and they were all hot & delicious. “This place has been here since I can remember. My Uncle worked at the wonder bread factory down the street from here over 40 years ago. They are inventing new ways of making Asian cuisine here with the Ultimate Saint Paul sandwich, and the infamous 'Happy Box'. Your favorite rice, or noodles, topped with saint paul patty, and asian gravy. Sprinkle a little red pepper, and you've got street food like your over there buying it. The neighborhood has changed a bit, but for the most part its still the best fried rice I've ever had in the states?????“
