“This spot is quite possibly the best Chinese restaurant in St Louis. I’ve ordered 4 different times, different dishes, and the food is always amazing.
They get very busy on the weekends. On Sundays, if the wait time isn’t 10-15 minutes, add 10-15 minutes to whatever they tell you it is. If they say 30-45 minutes, it’s more like 45-60 minutes.
Amazing spot, they’ll always have my business, but they gotta get better at giving customers accurate wait times.“

“Hosts were attentive and frequently refilled our water cups. Everything was freshly made and hot despite it was a later dinner for us. Some food was bland (mushrooms) until combined the sauce from another dish. Buffet was reasonably priced at 12.95. We'll definitely be returning!“

“Facebook is asking me "What do you recommend about China Garden on Gravois?" Well, I could - and truthfully should, write a whole essay on this subject. However I will not do so since I will instead be enjoying everything about my repeated excellent experiences at China Garden on Gravois. I will leave you with this note - China Garden on Gravois is stupendous and makes all other Chinese take outs look like imitators.“

“This review is for the bakery ONLY. Everytime we go to St. Louis, we stop here (We live at the Lake of the Ozarks). The mini custard pies are amazing, try the fried, sesame seed balls which are filled with two different kinds of bean custard, both are delicious.
The yeast buns are stuffed with a variety of sweets and cheeses and are killer. On the right side of the shop as you enter, there are usually a few versions of the Dim Sum they serve next door in the restaurant and they are all DELICIOUS!
I've purchased the Duck & the deep fried pork hanging in the window, several times & it's been legit. We buy half a duck because there's only 3 of us, but plenty. I always order a small order of their rice so we can eat our duck at the hotel.
It can be VERY crowded on the weekends, so come as soon as they open. There's usually only the one lady working the register and dude chopping up the duck & pork, but they're fast. A++++ It's not cheap but it's soooo worth it.“

“Food is fabulous... Parking is a bit questionable. Street parking or get stuck in the parking lot. This place has been at the corner of Goodfellow and Nat Bridge for years and years... And is always busy!! Arguably one of the best places to get Chinese food!!“

“Best St. Paul sandwich I've found so far. Sometimes a little salty, but still the best I've had. I've tried other food from here, but mainly come for the St. Paul. You can call in a pickup order, which seems to be what most people do. Or you can come wait while your order is being prepared. They have a dining room but rarely have I seen anyone eating there... the wait is usually something like 15 minutes. You ring a bell through the plastic partitioned ordering window when you arrive and someone will come out of the kitchen (if no one is already there) to take your order. This place isn't fancy by any means, and the tables seem like they could use a cleaning. Of note are the plants up front which are seemingly ancient. Lastly, not the St. Paul, but I went in late on a rainy night and had the best egg drop soup I've ever had. It may be because I was the only customer at the time, but I will definitely be back to try for that experience again.
Wheelchair accessibility: A step or two up into restaurant, so probably not wheelchair accessible.“

“Decided to try a new dish somewhere new to me. This was the best of Chinese options. Small. Unpretentious. Cheap. My entire lunch special was $6.99. I can't remember what I last saw prices like this, and the food was great. A little sweet. A little spicy.“

“Ok im not from St Louis but I really wanted to try rethink place because Mr Chimetime reviewed it and said it was good and guess what it was. The fried rice was a 10 outta 10 the St Paul needed more seasoning. The place looks a little sketchy but it was worth it. A lot of people were ordering the duck im try that next time.“

“This restaurant appears to have been a drive in at some point so pulling into the parking lot is kind of cool. Once you get out of your car, you go inside and order your food. They were doing a brisk carry out business, obviously they were very well known in the neighborhood. We chose to eat in one of the booths. Yes, it wouldn't hurt if someone did a bit of cleaning around the windows, but we weren't too put off and really enjoyed our meals. Would return.“

“Best Chinese food in the surrounding metro area. Hands down the best crab Rangoon I’ve ever had and the Chicken Szechuan is always on point. It is a little pricy, but we don’t mind paying a little extra for quality! Will be ordering tonight!“

“Solid chop suey spot in the county. They are still serving up what I’m starting to think of as soul Chinese food. The box of rice we grew up on. It’s hot, reasonably priced, salty, and good. I hate how dirty the outside is and I wish they gave us a better experience but as long as the rice is good and the shrimp are clean, I’ll be back.“

“The food here was really good. Would say excellent... but they forgot my fish plate. When I went back to get it ... it was ok ... but not what I was expecting. The atmosphere is horrible. You will have to fight through tweaker to get your food as they are posted up in the resteraunt, outside the door ... and they will walk up to your car.“

“I have been to many Chinese food places in STL. I have to say they are on of the best. They are across the street from the old schnucks on grand. Love their rice. Their st Paul's are on point.their prices are on par with other places. They don't take long to get orders out. Now that I'm talking about it, I might go there again today....“

“This is a hole in the wall Chinese place. It is an old gas station. The waiting area is a very uninviting, and somewhat prison like atmosphere. Honestly, some of the patrons are threatening and sketchy. I am not a fan of the neighborhood, but it is close to the VA, Powell Hall, and the Fox theater.
I got the special fried rice half order“

“No dine in option is available only take out. The hot braised chicken boneless was well seasoned and plenty of sauce noted. I asked for rice without white onion and it was still white onion in the rice. The crab ragoon the way that it was wrapped was the lazy way. It was just folded in half like a triangle. It was good though and and you saw the imitiation crab meat in it.
Dietary restrictions: They do have vegetarian options“
