“It was fantastic, a much looked forward to date night. The food was outstanding as always. Our server Janice is the best! We love her and always ask for her. We had the prime rib and sea bass special and both were delicious the bass was so flaky tender and full of flavor. Thank you to the team at TT for a wonderful meal!! Looking forward to our next visit.”
“The meatball appetizer & toasted ravioli are so good! Our steak was perfect and really liked the risotto mushroom side. We tried the pumpkin cake that the server recommended and it was ok-kinda gummy. The wedding cake is so good, we always order that. Love Twisted Tree and get there 2-3 year.”
“Packed on Friday for lunch, and it’s easy to see why. Food was wonderful! I had the chicken bacon ranch sandwich with tots and it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. Bread was especially good. My friend had a burger and fries- also delish.Service was good but they were completely slammed so refills and such took a bit- understandable.Absolutely recommend for a no-fuss lunch, dinner, or drink!”
“Pieces Board Game Bar and Grill was a real treat and one I want to visit again soon. Fun and fantastic food, games, and atmosphere. When we went last night we were the first ones to try their newer flag system (literally brought them out and swapped them on tables while we were there). It is a little easier to understand than the old one. The flag system is great because it helps those working from interrupting your games. The concept is intriguing to say the least. When you come, there is a $5 “library fee” per person. It decreases by $1 for each food or drink item you buy. When you are ready to order you raise up the appropriate (blue) flag. If you need any help with games, you raise the red flag. When you are finished playing, eating, and drinking then you raise the yellow flag for your check. There are countless games from a wide range of genres that works for everyone including solo, two-player, family-friendly, and large group games. Even though alcohol is served, families with even young children should feel comfortable here.We went with friends familiar with the place, but it was our first time and I am excited to go back again soon.Dietary restrictions: Staff was quick to ask if there were any dietary restrictions when it came up and confirmed any allergies. Something that is very commendable and often forgotten in many bars, grills, and restaurants.Parking: Depending on when you are there during the time of day, there are both paid and free parking spots mostly on the street.Kid-friendliness: We did not have our children with us, but would feel comfortable bringing them. There are not as many games for younger children, but there are still plenty of options.”
“Highly recommended. I lived in many major cities and this is the best cocktail bar I’ve tried thus far. I lived in St. Louis for two years and this was my go-to spot. I took everyone who visited me from out town there and everyone was impressed. I just moved out of St. Louis and will definitely come back to this place if I visited.”
“We love Steve's Hot Dogs; they are a real treat and truly are a gourmet experience! my vegetarian family members love that they have a full menu of items to chose from. We have gotten take out to bring to nearby Tower Grove Park for a picnic, and we have eaten in their outdoor area next to the building which is very nice in good weather. We also love Steve's star wars collection on display. It's a fun place to stop. Service is quick. Online ordering works great too.”
“I ordered a gift card for my daughters birthday. I was told it was arrived, but it was nowhere to be found. After contactinn narwhals Emily Hill reached out to me to let me know that she could hand-deliver one. while that was not needed because the card did arrive. It was an awesome gesture for me to get the gift card in time for my daughter’s birthday.”
“Fun little neighborhood bar. We sat in a room with board games and quizzed each other with trivial pursuit cards. Only downside is it's cash only at the bar so be prepared. They make good drinks though, I was thrilled to be able to get an aperol spritz”
“The food was delicious. We went there to celebrate my birthday. The Friday special was Steak Gianino. I was pleased to know that the restaurant was affiliated with Bill Gianino's. The house salad was good and familiar. ?Parking: Shares a large parking lot with other stores.Kid-friendliness: I saw kids of all ages. Chicken Tenders and fries were on the menu.Wheelchair accessibility: Outside seating available and mostly ground level seating.”
“Very good! I had low expectations, because upscale pizza places can be overpriced and over rated. This place is not cheap, prepare to drop some coin, but it was worth it! Great quality, not stingy with toppings, generous pours, my Ketel One martini was perfection (smooth and stealthy), attentive and friendly staff. Our fried artichokes (on the salad with pistachios, gasp) were scrumptious! Atmosphere rating a bit lower only because all the concrete makes it noisy. Can't wait to try more dishes.”
“I stopped in for dinner and after one bite I nearly kicked myself for putting it off for so long. The bibimbap bowl with added bulgogi steak and pixie sauce was insanely good. The ingredients were very fresh, the dish was flavorful, and although there was some heat to it, it was not overpowering and did not detract from the meal at all. If spicy heat is your thing, sub the pixie sauce for the dragon sauce. The best description I can come up with for the overall experience is this: Tiny Chef, tiny kitchen, huge flavor.Vegetarian options: The menu is small overall (two regular dishes and a special or two) but everything is customizable and all vegan and gluten free options are highlighted.Dietary restrictions: Everything is made of simple and fresh ingredients and the staff is very knowledgeable about what they're creating.Parking: The parking lot is directly across the street.”
“We visited with out of town friends to celebrate a birthday. Only one of us had been there before- it is in my neighborhood of many years ago. The food, service and wait staff were superb-everyone was impressed and raved about my choice. So glad to see this classy establishment doing well!”
“Went here on a Friday night, was recommended by a friend for the sandwiches, I was not aware it was a bar, I thought it was a restaurant, I had my 17 yr old son with me, a guy,Who I believe may have been the owner or running things at the time, told me he couldn't be there. I feel he was rude about it, as if I knew and was getting an attitude, very unpleasant! I almost changed my mind about ordering but I went ahead and ordered the seafood sandwich and mac and cheese with the red hot riplets this may be the best sandwich I ever sank my tootheses into! And the mac and cheese was delicious! I will be back to try every sandwich on the menu lol”
“I have never been here, but my experience there was great. My coworkers gave me a going away dinner there. It was very nice, enlightening, elegant, and refreshing. The staff was very friendly, very nice, very helpful, and very good in treating you like you are a value ? customer. I was very pleased with the services and the owner/manger came out and introduced himself very thoughtful and very appreciative. The restrooms were clean and very sanitized. The atmosphere was settled. The mood lwas very nice and soft. This one of those places you can definitely takesomeoneon a date, date night, first date without any kids. We had a lot of fun and we were out of folks way upstairs. Just know....this place is small....other than that you will have fun. The food was good. Everyone of course had steak ?. Can get pricey but worth it. Excellent thank you ?.”
“I decided to walk in on a whim, as soon as I came through the door a patron said "welcome" that pretty much sums up the feeling that place exudes. Sat at the bar for several hours chatting with several people. I highly recommend the 09 Pub.”
“Closest I've found to border flavored food. Regularly get enchiladas and margaritas from here. We call in our order and they usually have it ready in 25 minutes. When you pick up you pull into a numbered parking spot. They are quick to come out and take your card, then they return with your food.Parking: Parking lot fills up quickly.”
“The Get Down is a gathering place for like minded individuals to come together and relish in the vibes that the Grove has to offer. The employees are phenomenal, the owners are fantastic humans as well. Dog friendly on the patio, TouchTunes jukebox, games, all the fun to be had here! It has become one of my favorite spots to come and hang out no matter what day of the week! Thanks, Get Down! :)”
“My family loves Michael's- it's a neighborhood staple. Some of the best wings in town, and the rest of the menu is good, too. We do carry out, mostly, because they do get very busy, but the atmosphere inside is nice, too. Prepare for a wait if you go during peak hours - it's a popular spot.”
“Amazing burgers. Their smash burgers are so good. If you like patty melts they have the best one I've ever eaten. I had to order a second one and split it with my friend so he could try it. Service is great. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Just have to order at the bar.”
“We came in from out of town and loved this place! People are nice, atmosphere is good spooky and fun, patio was neatly kept and had a nice vibe - if this was our local bar we'd be back on the daily! Pours are strong, prices are great, you won't regret visiting!”
“I had been trying to get back here for 2 years. Finally visited on my birthday this year and had a blast plus got 40 free tokens because it was my birthday! I love this place and could have just as much by myself as with other people. And although I didn't have any that night, I have a bias in favor of any place that serves pizza by the slice!”
“One of the best meals I've had in a very long time. The chef obviously knows what they are doing, because you can taste the quality and freshness of the ingredients. My salmon was cooked to perfection, and everything was seasoned perfectly. We had Genesis as our server, and she definitely lives up to the hype. We will be back.”
“This place is great. Chill vibe, good shows and nice people from all walks of life. Huge local beer selection plus your usual domestics. Liquor selection has some unique picks and great selection also. This place is right next to an independent movie theater which shows cool movies. They sell pizzas from local spots for a nice price and they're always delicious. They now offer a locally made gluten free vegan option pizza that will blow your mind.”
“First off, this place has the best juke box in STL. The main attraction of course is the pinball and Tiny Chef for the food. Lots of pinball machines to choose from. There's even a league to join for those who want more pinball action. Rough around the edges, but the elegance of the women's restroom is lovely: a dispenser of Bath and Body Works lotion. I couldn't decide which one to use! Great crowd and a fun atmosphere.”
“My wife and I have visited the Gin Room annually for the last 5 years. We love the experience and our opportunity to learn about Gin around the world. We have interacted with the owner many times and cannot express how impressed we are with the experience. The staff are friendly and inviting. They are interested in finding the right experience for each person who comes into the establishment. We fell in love with this place and will continue to visit any chance we get.”
“SqWires is one of the restaurants I always share with people visiting the city. It’s in an iconic area of town, and the vibe inside is really unique. I can’t say enough about the food, I’ve eaten here a ton of times and it’s always great. Especially if you’re looking for a great weekend brunch option. Their Bloody Mary bar is also a must try (check out the photo). They’re definitely one of my favorite spots and I highly recommend trying them out if you haven’t paid them a visit already.Pro tip: reserve a table if you plan on going on the weekend, or get there when they open to snag a table. It can get crowded when it’s a busy weekend.Vegetarian options: There are a handful of vegetarian options, and definitely some vegetarian subs you can add to dishes.Parking: There’s a dedicated parking lot, but I usually find parking on the street much easier than finding a spot in the lot.”
“I hadn't been here in a while and decided to stop after the bar for a late dinner. I got the wings and my buddy got the blue plate special which was fried chicken. All of it was delicious and the people were so friendly. The chicken dinner was super crispy, not oily and cooked perfectly. The wings were fried bare with no breading the way they should be and were excellent. I need to make this a place a regular stop in the future.”
“My husband and I were here at your place restaurant and we absolutely loved it the minute we walked in the door it was welcoming and kind the menu was on the board and easy to read the staff was courteous kind the food was amazing I wish I could give you more than five stars we loved ”
“This is a great neighborhood place. Had the seafood pot pie on special. My wife got the meltdown (patty melt). Everyone here was extremely nice and welcoming. The pot pie was next level, I'm sure the normally available chicken and beef are just as well made. The burger is incredibly well seasoned and tastes perfect.”
“What a super cool bar. Kimmie was arevbartender and she was super friendly and definitely knew her job. She served us very cold beers and kept the shots coming. Probably 70% females and everyone including doorman was very friendly and respectful. They have a killer jukebox, pool table, and darts. Bathrooms where very clean and over all just a laidback chill place to spend a Friday night. I will be heading back soon. Highly recommended!!!”
“Love this Bar!!!The owner is fabulous!Parking: Be careful coming down to the lot. The building is perfectly positioned yo give the feel of being in the country. One lane road in and out.Wheelchair accessibility: Flat entrances at all access doors.”
“Great service and regulars with burgers that blow away many of the more mainstream competitors. Needless to say it is a bar with all that comes with that but don't let that sway you from tasting the simple but complex burges, pizza and cheezsteaks they cook up.Relaxing, fun atmosphere that could lean a bit more on the DB Cooper briefcase carrying suited criminal of lore.”
“One of my favorite spots for a cheap drink (cash only), and to waste the night away playing bar games. What can be better than $3 drinks while stumbling through shuffleboard and pinball?Place is definitely a dive - super gloomy and kitschy but in a welcoming way and without feeling grody. Bartenders are great and people are generally very friendly here. Bathrooms are hilarious - be sure to check those out.CBGB rules.”
“Awesome spot for the beer enthusiast, great selection of single beers for purchase, terrific selection of beers on tap and looks to have a wide range of the harder spirits for those seeking a different flavor. I really like the singles from the local craft breweries.”
“What can I say about this bar....It's inclusive, diverse, fun, chaotic, reasonably priced, ultra friendly! There's always events or show going on, the staff is epic, every night is a good experience, this bar is an experience from start to finish.”
“Zachary was so much fun. All three staff I met were enthusiastic and engaging. A high point was the Pat Connolly salad, fried portobello mushrooms over a cruchy salad with a zesty dressing on the side. Perfect for dinner. Liked it so much I can back for coffee the next day. Great place for beers too.”
“Did trivia, it was good fun, I little too loud but still manageable and able to talk with friends. Had hockey on so good place to have a drink and watch sports. A lady was selling food while trivia. Recommended for trivia on Tuesday around 7:30pm”
“Went for the first time with friends, and we really enjoyed it! They had a good variety of ciders and local beers. I really enjoyed the Foundation! However, the best part was our server, India. She was so cute and pleasant and funny. She made our experience a 10/10.”
“Such a cool place and the food was amazing. Staff was very friendly and they had some great gluten free options. I had a smash burger, fries, and we ordered sweet potato fries as the appetizer. All of it was perfectly cooked and there were so many flavors present that it became more of an experience than just a meal. Will definitely be back.I loved the atmosphere! Black and gold color scheme throughout with beautiful dark hardwood. The taxidermy and art on the walls is an impressive collection and definitely helps set the tone. On the particular day I went the music selection consisted mostly of '90s hip hop, primarily Lauryn Hill and The Fugees which was a great throwback for me.You must go for the total experience, it's worth it. I'll certainly go back!Dietary restrictions: Nice gluten free options (celiac friendly). The staff is aware of cross-contamination and do their best to make sure that doesn't happen.”
“In need of a quick cocktail? Need to luxuriate on a cozy patio? This is the place for you! Hip, chic, mid-century mod could easily describe this place. Vinyl records adorn the back bar wall. An eclectic mix of music plays in the background as you sip delightfully crafted libations. The bartenders are friendly, knowledgeable, and craft a superb cocktail. The drink menu ranges from beer to delicious cocktails. This place is a good stop for drinks, no food menu just yet.”
“First time visiting and the drinks were terrific!! I usually visit TROPS in The Grove but they were closing so I came here. Glad TROPS ( nothing against them, still love them) was closed because I wouldn’t have tried the island!! A must try if you love frozen alcoholic drinks!”
“You know who should get credit? Restaurants that are open on Mondays!!!"Will dance for pizza!"The Hi-Hat was the office for the afternoon!Hi-Hat's pizza is Sicilian pizza! She thick! She hearty! Our guy told us the pizza chef here started out of his house during Covid! Loving the progression into a restaurant!Great for lunch, happy hour and dinner! Located in Soulard!”
“I LOVE the Venice Cafe. The live music is to die for and there are so many amazing local musicians that frequent this spot. This is a cash only bar but they have an ATM and all the drinks are very reasonably priced. 10/10 one of my favorite spots in Saint Louis.”
“Found this place too late, but would go back. We were in St. Louis and went to a Cardinal's game. After the game we were looking for food and went to EPIC Pizza. After ordering we were told to head next door and grab a seat. Turned out to be International Tap House. Which was a cool bar with great rock-a-billy and surf music. Unfortunately, it was our last night with an early morning, but will hit it up for sure next trip.”
“I love this bar! I'll be back in a heartbeat next time I'm in STL. Fantastic cocktails, a killer dj, great atmosphere, the bartenders are all incredibly friendly, and they have one of my fave pinball machines. 10/10 Also, explicitly trans-friendly, which I really appreciate!”
“Winnie's Wine Bar is a fantastic spot for day drinking. Opening at 3:00, it offers a great selection of drinks and delectable food. The Kale and Parmesan dip is a must-try, and their macaroni and cheese is simply fantastic. But the real star of the show is their fries, which are to die for. The bar's unique backstory, with its special connection to the owners, adds a charming touch to the overall experience. Whether you're into Old World or New World wines, Winnie's Wine Bar is a delightful place to unwind and enjoy great company.”
“Remodeled interior, friendly atmosphere. One of the last true North side neighborhood bars that you can walk or drive to. Shay the bartender is and has been one of the best bartenders in tha area over the last decade. Good place to throw a party.”
“My favorite bar in town! Live happenings almost nightly from drag to burlesque, karaoke on Tuesdays and Fridays, and my favorite event IMPOSSIBLE TRIVIA on the first Thursday of the month hosted by Googz/Googolplexia! The staff are friendly and, like the clientele, endlessly interesting. Self-dubbed as a place of “misfit toys,” The Crack Fox is a great place to spend an hour or an evening, with specialty cocktails and delicious mocktails/zero-proof drinks (try the Italian sodas!), genuinely good pizzas, and splendid company :)Vegetarian options: Great vegan pizza options. They’re still bar food, but highly recommendable!”
“If I ain't doubled down on San Loo yet, then allow me to clear my throat... .... John and staff are literally booting up every day to bring drinks to the masses. Along with other small biz in the Lou... the stay at home set really needs to rethink Monday thru Thursday. This guy is literally coming to work on a Monday at quarter to ten, and there is no one I that bar. Come spend your money here!?!?!?!!! Please!”
“Being that I came in to deliver the firewater I did not eat lol but google keeps asking for my opinion and I'm going to give it! I came in early on a weekday afternoon and there was a good handful of locals there all having a great time, seemingly enjoying themselves fully. The bartender who I'm assuming was the owner at the time I was there was very attentive and even left me behind for a minute to check in her products as she was paying attention and seen someone taking their last swallow. That to me is the most important thing... don't leave me waiting with an empty drink if you absolutely can avoid letting that happen. So from everything I observed this corner style city bar would be a great place to make new friends and have some adult beverages!”
