“One of the better mid size venues to see a show. We've been multiple times over the last 10 years and have never had a bad experience. They have the right amount of security to make everyone feel safe but not so much that it impacts the experience if the show gets a little rowdy. With that being said the demeanor of the crowd as far as the shows I've been to has been great. I've yet to see any fights or groups of people getting blackout drunk. For me the acoustics of the old building have been wonderful and the set up of the stage gives a good view for most of the patrons. Certain shows will fill the building so it's always best to get there early. Also total gold star move that they have multiple water stations with cups on each floor.“

We had to wait 15 minutes for a booth but I didn’t mind because this place serves LOOKS. The decor was awesome! Everything from the stellar service, crispy and lacey smash burgers and gorgeous dining room(s) made me realize why this spot is always recommended to me. “A cool little dive bar with pinball machines. On a Sunday night they seem to have some league whereby people play them all night so normal patrons can’t use them. It’s a pretty cool place though, and if you can find a night where you can play pinball or just listen to the jukebox, I’d definitely recommend it. Tiny chef is excellent also and they sell food at a window inside the bar.“

“This place is the most welcoming, warm, full of good people dive bar I have ever been to in my life. Lots of pinball machines, wonderful bartenders and patrons, Dan-o's pizza if you get hungry. The pinball machines are half the cost. They are anywhere else that I've been to. The owners are amazing. And the people are such a great group of people. This place has been my home bar for 4 years and I don't see that changing. I always feel safe, welcome, and protected when I am in this bar. “Stew's has become our regular date night spot once a week. We look forward to the salmon, the mushrooms, the fried rice and for now the tuna - hoping for a return of the scallop ceviche! We love the inside even when it can be a little bit loud and we love the outside (our preference) in good weather. Service is always top level and attentive and I love to get my Blanton's old-fashioned made here. Occasionally the wait can be long but for us it's always been worth it even when it's been 30° outside! You can consider us die hard fans. “I love that there's a total dive bar in uptight, old money Clayton. Staff is down to earth, the patrons don't get too drunk. Drinks are reasonably priced. If you're in Clayton and want a drink without worrying about who is listening to your conversation, this is the place to go.“

“We've been here a few times and it's been consistently excellent on all fronts. Maybe the most European vibe of any spot in STL. I prefer branzino (and most fish) grilled whole, but the butterflied version they serve is still outstanding and a better fit for St. Louis tastes (I love STL, but for some reason many folks even struggle with bone-in chicken here). This time I had Vincenzu's Sicilian sausage (complete with Sicilian spelling of his name!), which was excellent. They also had a wonderful Sicilian white wine (nerello mascalese, never saw it in the US). I don't we've ever encountered a misfire. Oh, and the host is very charming and helpful!“
