“I’ve been coming to grizzly bear for years with friends and family. I love the atmosphere inside and outside. The historical building is absolutely gorgeous. Marie was mine and my sisters bartender and she was so sweet and attentive. Absolutely love her! 10/10 definitely recommend. The wings are delicious and I love playing darts in the front room. Never a dull moment at the grizzly bear.“

They also have several large dining areas, so it would be a great spot for a big group or get-together. Great atmosphere, great food, and we’ll definitely be back!“

“Ate at Cafe Smoke Shack recently. The food was fantastic. Service was excellent and our waiter was very attentive. Giant portions, well prepared & we were all extremely pleased with our meal. "Stan, Matt & Marlowe were charming and cordial to all. The owner (Matt/Chef) is one of the nicest and most hospitable folks you'll ever want to meet. Truly cares about his customers. Stay clear of Bill... Why you ask? He was a smug, rude & a disingenuous individual. Brought in six (6) people & spent over $300.00 with no other customers dining that day. He acted like he did us a favor. All of the other employees were wonderful.“

“I have been messaging back and forth with the owner for over a month to plan my daughters graduation party. We did a Sunday, so we had the entire place for just our private event. There was a heat index of 118+ that day so the AC had some trouble keeping up and I do know other restaurants in the area had to close down because of AC issues. Even with all that, the team had reached out to an HVAC company right away. The amazing staff immediately brought out large fans and had ice waters poured and ready to go for when guests arrived. Patti, Amy, and Parker all asked me several times if they could help me set up my own decorations- the restaurant itself already was set up for my party and looked amazing. There was excellent communication throughout the event. The food was delicious, and the service was top notch. Most of all, my daughter loved it. We come in about 2X a month usually so I was comfortable hosting the party here. I am glad I did. We will definitely do this again for other events. Huge thanks to Amy, Patti, Parker, and Colleen! Also worth noting, for a catered event, the price was extremely fair! Sorry no pics of the food...but the sandwiches, pretzels, wings especially, T Ravs, and salad were ALL delicious!“

“Sous chef Doug was FANTASTIC with his cooking abilities and customer service. he stopped and checked on our table and we weren’t very impressed with the quesadilla that was originally sent out. he made my son an entire new one made completely differently and soooo much better! then he came back to our table to check on us multiple times and even offered us a free dessert ☺️ so very kind and went above and beyond! “i drove to helen fitzgerald’s 4 hours from KC a few weeks ago with my friend to try some wings and listen to JAM (and you should, too). we did not realize that you had to be 21+ to enter the bar section for live music, and my friend was not 21 yet. the manager, Jason, was so kind to us and allowed us to stay and listen to Jackson and Mars for a while and keep our yearly tradition of seeing them! huge thank you to Jason and all of the staff for showing us kindness and great service. AND the wings were amazing (and the wing sauce was worth the drive alone). will also be coming back when we are in st. louis next!!“

From the security to the ladies working at the bar we felt cared for. Even the other patrons were really nice. You can tell they are regulars there and we enjoyed that. The drinks were A1 in taste and buzz level. The only “issue” I had was the menu I read about online wasn’t as extensive. I had my heart set on something I didn’t see in person but that’s not a dealbreaker. They will see us again.“

“I was host to approximately 30 to 35 professional people for an evening. The food was unbelievably delicious; and Taylor attended to us flawlessly. She never missed a beat and got it all right. The atmosphere was great in spite of it being a memorial service. There was a second table almost as large as ours, and there was plenty of room to spare. I had shopped around a few places; none of them seemed compatible for my needs. Mitch was the mgr., and he was great as well. He had asked several times how everything was. I had visited the place once more by myself before my return trip home. Great place, great atmosphere, great food, and great service. If you get the chance, go!!“

“You won’t see service like this anymore.

My wife and I bought all inclusive tickets for the Bud deck. They were accidentally listed for sale during a 4hr window and the deck was actually closed for a private event.

This place went above and beyond for us. I wasn’t mad. I knew I’d at least be refunded. They went to the moon and back to apologize for the mistake and made us whole 5x over. I go to a lot of games, but don’t regularly pre-game here. Well that’s going to change. I’m coming here every game. Special shout out to the guest services manager and the bar manger. They made us feel special and that our business actually meant something to them.

You do NOT get this service anymore. Phenomenal people. I’m coming all summer long and I’m a patron for life. The two women who helped us were top notch. Bud deck guest manager and main floor bar manager. I don’t know their names, but they’re the best of the best in the industry.

“Probably the best tasting fried chicken in town, we have to stop by Fergie's every time we're in town. Their price point is still good, and you can order all dark or white meat for an extra price. The breading is very tasty and the meat is tender and moist.“

“I knew the owners of this place. Rose and Tony. My grandma took me down there when I was two. She ran a run down apt complex right next to there. I can’t believe it is still there. Rose and Tony would come to my house for holidays. I will be visiting there soon. It was a nice little dive bar the last time I was there. I worked at the west and cafe. They must be related to the owners because they don’t mind huffing and puffing with nasty attitudes. Only complaint is get better bartenders with sales experience and customer service.“
