I recently moved back home to Decatur Il and couldn't help but think about Del Carmens pizza. It was just that good😋I would usually order from the one on 22nd St but that one no longer exists, so I went with the one in Mt Zion as the other two were closed on Sunday. I ordered two large 18 inch cheese pizzas. I paid almost $60 for this pizza and it wasn't worth the price. I was told it would be ready by 7:30p, I made it by 7:35-7:40. By the time I made it home the pizza was stale, cheese was very dark with no melt to it, it was hard to chew and it was not hot at all. I am very disappointed in Del Carmens for giving me, what I assume was old pizza that had been sitting there. I expected my pizza to be made as ordered, not leftovers from earlier that day or possibly the day before. I received a coupon for next time, but I will not be visiting this pizza parlor again. It doesn't take pizza that long to cool and for them to give me old pizza was a slap in the face. Del Carmens and the employees need to do a better job of delivering quality food for the prices they charge.

My family’s first time at this location, 4/24/25. The salad, breadsticks, & pizza were ALL GREAT!! My wife & I were very impressed by the food & the service. Our waitress was friendly from the first moment we walked in the door. We will definitely visit again!

I called in an order for pizza and breadsticks. Everything went great, but as I headed to my car I lost control of the box and dropped the breadsticks and pizza on the ground. I was so bummed! I thought well I guess I’ll go ahead and have to pay for another one. Then the lady working popped her head out and said “we already got a new order made for you no charge” and she helped me carry the old pizza and breadsticks inside. They were so nice about everything, I could not believe it! I have always loved Del Carmen’s but now they have a new loyal customer! If you want great employees and great customer service you need to go to Del Carmen’s! Thank you again to the crew that did that for me, I am so appreciative!

Door dash order placed. Restaurant made the wrong pizza. Called to discuss ways to make this right. Refused to speak with me about this bc it was through DoorDash. A new order could have been placed to make it right. Instead, they refused to take ownership for THEIR MISTAKE. Rude and discourteous. I have added these details to clarify WHY I left this review in the first place, as the response continues to shirk responsibility. Additionally, the breadsticks were dry and cold. We won’t be giving them our continued business. Plenty of other perfectly mediocre pizza options in town.

Pizza was good, we had a sausage and onion and my brother and SIL had pepperoni. The dining room was clean and well-lit. I did carry out, so that about all I can say about the environment.

I ordered a taco salad and a house salad but my taco salad was all lettuce once you mix it it’s all lettuce and this the one in Nelson park recommend you say extra everything else and light lettuce

Great food everytime takeout and dine in. food comes out extremely fast when dining in. This place is so awesome, ate there many times. The pizza is almost as great as original. The garlic cheese bread best in town, the chicken wings great. The service is professional and friendly. Beer always cold. If you love the feel of a classic pizzeria with great service and food, hard to beat!
