Perkins - at the corner of Monroe and Pershing in Decatur - the eatery that Decaturites forgot. I recall a time in the 1980s and 1990s, where they were brewing coffee by the traincar full, and serving up heaping helpings 24 hrs a day, including that all important late night feast. The tall man waiter & female waitress tonight were both as professional as you will find in the service industry. Cordial, alert, and offered an exceptional dining experience. The chicken breast, & mash potatoes, & eggs benedict were delicious.

Food is really good. This place has come along way from just a few years ago.Update, food is still really good and the best omelet in town in my opinion. The only downside is they occasionally mess up the order so check your bag and you should be good.
