I don't like most Mexican restaurants. But I really like Taqueria La Perlita! The food is so flavorful and the choices for meat are unique to Illinois Mexican Restaurants. Had a beef tongue gordita that had the best tortilla. Al pastor taco and Chorizo taco that had the best flavor!! Wish I lived closer!
If you are looking for authentic, amazing Mexican food, DO NOT SLEEP on this small spot! 🌮 Seriously, this place is hands-down one of the best Mexican restaurants in the entire area, and it deserves all the love.

My family and I don’t eat meat, so we exclusively get the shrimp tacos/fajitas here, and THEY NEVER MISS. Everytime, the shrimp has been cooked to perfection, the portion sizes are great, and they always check on us every once in a while to make sure we’re doing okay. Highly recommend!
