Took an out-of-town coworker here last night for dinner. Great portions and great food! Short wait for food even though they were completely packed on ATHENA awards night. My steak was cooked perfectly and exactly how I ordered it (medium rare). Coworker ordered a pasta dish with shrimp she said was great. I will definitely be back.

Florentino's Charhouse is a hidden gem in downtown Dekalb. The food is fresh, hot, and very tasty. The alfredo and french onion soup are fabulous, with the soup described as the best. Portions are huge; one guest ate half and still had enough for an entire meal. Homemade bread is served hot with whipped butter and is amazing. The menu offers steak, seafood, and homemade pastas. Popular dishes include chicken lemon, Jack Daniel's strip, half ribs, chicken parm, spaghetti, and a burger. The starter salads that come with meals are generous and fresh, and the ranch is so good that guests asked to buy some. Ambience is a good balance of modern and a little hip, well-lit but also intimate. Seating options include a bar, hightop, booths, and standard tables, and parties of eight have been seen. Service is great; servers are attentive and friendly, and the waiter is excellent. Guests praise the great bread, amazing cheesecake, and fantastic old fashions. Overall, Florentino's Charhouse offers stellar food, great vibes, and a place that feels fancy without needing to be super dressed up.
