I am DEVASTATED at this closing. Grew up an Army brat in Chicago, and the only place to get truly authentic German delights was Kuhn's in Lincoln Square. Then when they moved to Des Plaines, I'd brave a 2-hour drive to acquire the tastes of my childhood. It is a tragedy that this place is no more. Guess there's nothing left for it but to chuck it all and just move back to Stuttgart.
It was ok. I waited approximately 45 minutes for a sandwich and some kraut. Waitress kept telling me to hold on and she was busy. I was so sad I waited that long. I really love this place but as far as dining in I can't say I will be back. 3 stars for awesome treats and good deli selection of Germany's best foods.
Feels like a home cooked meal. Good meal, look forward to trying again.
I've been going to Kuhn' s since a child. Also this location since they opened. They only have a quarter of the items they used too. Went there for the restaurant. I ordered the usual, a large bread dumpling with brown gravy. What they brought me was one tiny dumpling. Not a bread dumpling. I inquired about it and they didn't want to talk to me. The packaged dumpling tasted like glue. They changed the dumpling, but not on the menu. They charged the same price. Don't waste your time! Bad attitudes all around. They buy their freezer items from Paulina Market in Chicago.

Love their quality and variety of delicious german foods. Drive an hour just to shop there!
Very good food. Brats were good. German potatoe pancakes were good too.
I love this restaurant! Walk through the deli and its a nice surprise in the back. Sparingly decorated to suggest and not overwhelm the diners with the German theme. The service is always wonderful and the food delicious. Highly recommended!
Went there tonight and the lady working in the store was very helpful and very pleasant

Nice selection. Very high mark-ups. A bottle if Flimm Apfelkorn was $40. It's normally not more than $25.
Great food. Good prices
Outstanding German food with specials daily. Deli is excellent with good quality meat and cheeses. Beer and wine is available with lunch if desired.
