The food and the service are absolutely top-shelf…their Greek food is better than anything I’ve had all over Chicago.

They turned me away do having a true service dog. They falsely have wrong info how to tell from real and fake. Manager mocked me. They broke ADA FEderal law. Their sign by the door welcome service dog for disable person. They dont really do. I recommend NO one go to this Restaurant for Braking the ADA Federal Law. The Manager is rude and disrespectful. FYI my dog just sat queitly next me. As it supposed to. This person does NOT know the Law or rules for service dogs. Very disrespetful!

I rarely, if ever, leave a 5star review across the board. But this one is different. Plateia is a dearly loved restaurant by my whole (very large) family - we eat there often - and it has special meaning for us.

I had my final dinner there the night before my only child was born, 24 years ago. (Back then, the name was different, but the owners are the same). Now he's getting married, and last Saturday, I hosted his jack-and-jill wedding shower there, in their front room. As always, it was a terrific experience.

Dimitry and Dio were a pleasure to work with throughout the planning phase and at the event itself. It couldn't have gone better. The food was exceptional and plentiful; the service incredibly attentive. And the price was more than reasonable.

If you love delicious Greek food, whether for a meal or an event, I can't recommend Plateia more highly. It is truly a gem. Opa!

Vagellis out server was fantastic. Very friendly, followed up on time each time, and made excellent recommendations. The chicken “sto fourno” was moist and done perfectly, as was the pastitsio.

Delicious Greek food. Not perfect, but great. Our Greek server was really good. Even for a Saturday night it wasn’t oppressively loud.

Waiter waited on us one time. Helped everyone around us multiple times while completely ignoring us. We were also the only brown skin people in the restaurant. Brought it to the managers attention and he said “we all have our bad days”. I won’t be giving them any more of my business and I suggest you think twice about it too if you’re a person of color.

omg it took over 1.5 hours for our meal to be served. it's ridiculous. our meal should have been free. watching a table of 5 who arrived at same time now asking for meals to go as they've been waiting so long.
server is lovely guy and i suspect not his fault but this is ridiculous

Very busy place on a Saturday night. No reservations. We sat at the bar which was wonderful. We had a very helpful and attentive female bartender. The grilled octopus is a must. Chicken shishkabobs were perfectly done.

Open dining room and outdoor seating make this a good choice. Enjoyed the food and the service was great. Drink prices were reasonable. Definitely family friendly and good for groups.
