“I don't have much reason to travel to East Moline most of the time. I was across the river and away from my normal stomping grounds around Bettendorf to get breakfast in Rock Island. After a great and filling breakfast I still wanted to relax for a bit with a hot beverage and do some reading. With that goal in mind, I made my way over to East Moline to check out Jaded Java and hopefully kick back for a time. The space occupied by Jaded Java is unassuming, to say the least. There's a green awning identifying the location in an otherwise older looking brick and stucco building. The interior is far more updated however, consisting of dark stone-colored tile throughout the space, a series of comfy chairs right off the main entrance, and a coffee/alcohol bar further in. The ceiling is uncovered, allowing for full view of the conduit and HVAC ductwork run throughout. Lighting is provided by suspended single bulb fixtures spaced evenly throughout the space. In combination with the black ceiling, brick wall to one side and beige painted drywall on the other, the space has a certain dark, relaxing warmth to it.Like nearly every bar/restaurant in Illinois, this place also has a series of video slots in a space set aside for their use. Nothing against Jaded Java in particular, as the slots present here looked relatively new and clean, but I wish the state of Illinois could figure out how to allow land casinos and do away with this trend. The space is otherwise really nice, but like all other places that have these slot machines, their presence is a jarring and takes away from the overall ambiance. After a brief chat with the barista/bartender, I settled on a hot chocolate for my beverage. After securing the beverage, I found a semi-comfy chair behind the slot machines and settled into reading my book for a little while. The hot chocolate was pretty good - for the price of $2, I'd come back for this any day! It was rich, had some creaminess to it, and I didn't burn my tongue immediately after sipping it.The ambiance was further augmented by the quiet music playing at the time of my visit. Whoever was in charge of the music had light 70s-80s playing the entire time - a mix of Led Zepplin, the Beatles, and other similar fare. It was at a volume conducive to quiet conversation and contemplation, exactly what I needed and wanted at the time from a small cafe. Keep doing this, it's a great overall functional vibe.If this place were closer to home in Bettendorf, I could envision stopping by here frequently. Alas, this is all the way over in East Moline, so I probably won't be stopping by again any time soon. If you want somewhere to sit and relax mid afternoon in East Moline, I'd recommend giving Jaded Java a try. Thanks for the great hot chocolate!Vegetarian options: Didn't see much in the way of food here on my visit. Certainly the coffee, tea, or booze would qualify as vegetarian, as would many of the pastry on hand. I wouldn't come here specifically for a vegetarian meal, though.Kid-friendliness: People brought their very young children here when I was visiting in the middle of the afternoon. I wouldn't recommend bringing them later in the evening, but this timeframe certainly wasn't bad for kids.Parking: There's a good amount of parking on the street right next to and across from the shop. There's also what appeared to be a free parking lot a few storefronts down from here.“
“Wow! This place is amazing. We tried the French Toast Latte and the Peach Black tea. Easily my new favorite coffee house from just the first visit. Planning to make this a regular shop! The nicest man helped us and was very sweet the whole time, brought out our drinks very quick, too! 11/10 recommend!!“
“I was about to leave a bad review because they left me in the drive through without telling what was going on w my order for quite some time. after I got the lady's attention she was apologetic and let me know they were waiting on fresh food. The food was the best I've had from that location and she hooked me up bc of the wait.“
“I stopped here with my boyfriend on the way out of town. We both had quiche (different kinds), and both were just fantastic. We also both had the Cream of Mushroom soup and loved it. Further, the service is excellent. We had a hiccup with our order, and when we pointed it out, the owner personally made sure it was immediately made right. This is a five star place. I can’t wait to come back.“
“Heard about Creative Pastry from a friend and decided to try their breakfast but was too late at 11:45. Decided to give their lunch menu a look and chose the chicken pesto sandwich with a carmel frappe. Both were excellent! Husband had their hamburger which was also great. Cute place and service was great. Next time, I will get there early enough to try their breakfast items.Definitely worth checking out!Parking: Adequate parking on side of building or you can park in front of business.“
“Really cute spot, especially for any bibliophile. I browsed some books, took in the scent of binding glue, and sipped on my latté. I saw some board games and gaming consoles, too. They've got a stage in the back for some future shows maybe. Everyone there seemed to enjoy themselves. I definitely look forward to visiting again. The latté was good!“
“The service was fantastic! The server was amazing and helped us well. The food was good. The gravy was very spicy so keep that in mind. The biscuits maybe could've been cooked a little less. But the potatoes wete amazing and omfg the smoothie was “
“My husband and I finally got to check out this coffee shop! It was absolutely amazing. I had an amazing service experience. I wish I could remember the individual who helped me, but I have forgotten their name. I ordered the Iced Leroy and my husband ordered the mailman frappe. Both were fantastic. Mine had peanut butter mocha and banana. The banana flavor was not overwhelming which I figured it would be. It was the perfect mix! We also got a cinnamon roll. It was so good and served just slightly warm. The only downside is I wish it were just a bit warmer and it would be absolutely fantastic! Don’t miss out on this coffee shop. Shop small and local!! 10/10 recommend!!“
“Proof that those who say, 'there is nothing to do in the QC' are miserably ignorant at best or a liar, damned by [email protected] options: Not a place that serves portions for a square meal & a snack to take home. This goes for the entire Bill of Fare. They focus on QUALITY. NOT! QUANTITY!Dietary restrictions: If YOU are reasonable, then they will REASONABLY accomadate your dietary restrictions.Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly patio & garden-like space for those children SENSIBLE & PRUDENT enough to BEHAVE.“
“My first time here I purchased a Regular black Coffee it was fantastic. I revisit today but I was told they were closed, but one of the gentlemen came outside to greet me, with kindness he accommodated me by taking my order even though they didn't have my preferred request he suggested some others the cinnamon sugar donut spice coffee I topped it off by trying a coffee muffin is flavorful and delicious. Great Job. I'll be back and refer to others.“
