I had my cousin go pick me up 4 tacos, and they put lettuce and tomatoes without cheese or toasting the shells. Usually when I go to a Mexican restaurant they serve you cilantro and onion tacos while toasting the shells also. Any other food I've gotten there was fantastic. But the tacos, they were basic American tacos and not done authentic.
The burritos are good and the horchata was okay, not anything special. However, their salsa is amazing..specifically the red one. The red salsa is the reason I come back. The food is very expensive for what you get though. I had gotten 3 burritos with carne asada, 2 drinks…and the total was 35 dollars. Overall is a decent place.
I love elfaros but they need to cook fresh meat daily. Nothing worse than getting a burrito with old meat. Their rice and beans are the best in Elgin. I'm still rocking with them. It's in my blood just like the fox River.
