We've recently rediscovered this place after not having been here since the pandemic. They did lower prices across the board, which is commendable. Overall, the staff is decent. There are a couple of waitresses that could use some additional training, especially in regards to service. It was a cold, blustery day, so I decided I needed a nice hot lunch and chose the Big Skillet restaurant. I was not disappointed. It's a nice, clean restaurant with great employees and great service. (Even the restroom was clean) After perusing their menu I decided upon a comfort classic: the patty melt. It comes with french fries and a soup or salad. As it was cold day, I chose the soup. I really enjoyed this family restaurant. The service was great and the food was very good. I had the Southern Eggs Benedict, and it was great. My daughter had the homemade chicken tenders and they were very good too. Overall, everyone else enjoyed their food too. Will definitely be back. Did I mention they've lowered their prices during this ridiculous inflation? Support this place, it's an example of our great Elgin community!
