Riverside Mercantile is a charming shop located in a quaint riverside town. This unique store offers a wide variety of goods, including coffee, ice cream, candy, meats, and cheeses. The shop features a playground for kids and is wheelchair accessible, making it a great stop for families. Customers can find gluten-free options, including ice cream flavors like peach and the highly recommended apple pie ice cream. The store has a lovely atmosphere, with beautiful handmade items from local artists, including antler walking canes and sticks. Visitors can also find solar eclipse gear and jeep accessories, alongside local meats and cheeses. The shop supports local artists and offers unique southern Illinois gifts, such as candy, popcorn, beverage syrups, Amish butter, and super tasty ice cream selections. Customers frequently enjoy the blackberry cobbler ice cream, which is a favorite, although recent changes in brand have been less preferred. The staff are always smiling and have a wonderful attitude, providing great service. Visitors can also enjoy frappes, and many come to walk down to the river for a view, making it a perfect place to stop and shop in the Elizabethtown area.
