This is a restaurant right in the center of downtown Evanston, at the street level of the Bank One building, at the intersection of Davis & Orrington streets. The food was delicious. We had the duck pate and the lamb meatballs as appetizers - both delicious. (They serve it with a warm, very crusty bread for the pate. We would have preferred toast points or anything easier than the bread they offer since it is difficult to pull apart into edible-size pieces.) The entrées were...
The only really great restaurant in Evanston. Menu is varied and interesting - you can negotiate the tasting menu if you want to share and add another entree - you can then take home the dessert if it will travel. Non alcoholic mocktail was a surprise. Service was excellent even though one of our group made her jump through the hoops. One of our favorite spots and the place is beautiful!
Excellent overall. However, vegetarian options are limited (if that's important to you): One mushroom dish on the main menu, and a slight variation on that dish on the Prix Fixe menu. That particular dish was so-so. They used to have a vegetarian tagine, but we learned it was discontinued. Vegetarian appetizers were fantastic, on the other hand. Also always a surprise to me when a french or french inspired restaurant does not automatically serve bread (but that's a business...
