Flavors were amazing! Ended up with dulce de leche and dulce de leche with flan. Definitely would come back. However, the guy working there didn’t seem to enjoy his job lol. Didn’t really smile or was friendly . He seemed irritated when we were asking to try a few samples. Would have gave a 5 but due that issue, brought it down a star.

Truly one of the most liberating and exciting experiences as an individual with food allergies! I love FRÍO Gelato and visit often with friends and family. The gelato is high quality, well-made, and the perfect texture. As a mint flavor connoisseur, I can guarantee this is the best mint-flavored dessert I have EVER had (and I’ve tried many). How natural and creative to make the mint flavor using tea bags!! For those who don’t typically enjoy mint, it’s hard to judge. For those who DO, this is THE ultimate mint chocolate chip gelato! The chocolate pieces in many of the gelato flavors are also the most satisfying-not your predictable chips or chunks. You can tell the chocolate is homemade and high quality. Absolutely love FRÍO.

Love that they’re small was only $5.50. I got the dolce de Leche and it was delicious. If you get a cone, you are required to get a double scoop and you have to choose two different flavors which makes no sense to me. So my daughter chose mint, chocolate chip, and chocolate, and the mint chocolate chip tasted like toothpaste. It was pretty bad. My husband got the flan and dolce de Leche, which is one flavor, and it was bad.

4.5 stars! Great quality gelato place for reasonable prices. There are hit and miss flavors, but they have very unique and fun flavors you don’t see elsewhere. I really like that their gelato and sorbet both look natural as I don’t like food coloring. My favorite gelato place in Chicagoland area. They also have free WiFi!

I recommend everyone visiting Evanston to try Frio Gelato. It's one of the best gelatos that I've had so far. My favorites are dulce de leche, tramontana and cheese & honey.

As a European I’ve been really missing a gelato place like this and FRÍO Gelato 100% hit the spot. Unique flavors that are not overly sweet and I appreciate that you can get more flavors in a normal size cup and you don’t have to get the XXL cup to get 3+ flavors which you’d never be able to finish… Also love the homemade wafflecones and cups!
