If ur a customer, u may know their history. The very hard working owner, decided to retire & move back to Greece. Leaving his wife , & 2cd eldest som to take over running the restaurant. About a year after Jimmy moved back to "the old country". One of my co-workers was convinced that his wife was stealing her tips. She would log all of our credit card receipts in a noebook . So if I had a table, they paid with any credit card, so usually they would include a tip on the card. Say it was $8.00, she would right down $5 in her notebook, pocket the other $3.00 ! I finally had to quit my job. They were only paying $2.00 . I didn't like getting a measly $2 an hour, but I dealt with it cuz I really enjoyed working there. However, after it was Obvious what mother & son were doing, i just couldn't take it anymore ! I confronted her a few times ! She tried to brush it off by saying,, -"Oh No ! They absolutely did not leave u $8, only $5. I know she was lying to me ! !! Finally, after a polite confrontation, she basically admitted it ! She would say, "No complaining, or u wont b able to work here anymore. After 9 years ! I think people should know!! Cuz its very hard to get ur head around it,--IF YOU KNOW HER. She seems so sweet & innocent ! Believe me !! She couldn't care a less about her employees !!!

There were flies in the restaurant when I was dining. This was as soon as the business opened, so not much time for the flies to get in though out the day.

I would rate this at 3.5 and here's why.I chose outdoor dining as it was nice outside. The food was great - I enjoyed the jalapeno/avocado/Swiss burger with Merkt's cheddar fries. You should get the upgrade. 5 Stars.I felt rushed by the server/manager to close out and pay. It's a pet peeve of mine to be rushed as a paying customer. Normally, you're asked if there's anything else you want or view the desserts, but the server came by, placed the check (face down) and tended to the other tables. Perhaps we were close to their closing time -maybe within 30 minutes. Also the manager was hella close when giving me my receipt copy. 2 Stars.(5 + 2) ÷ 2 = 3.5 StarsAlso, if you do outdoor dining, you may have to deal with Yellow Jackets in your face/near your food. It's not the restaurant's fault, but just a heads up. You should still go. The burgers are good.

My wife and Iove this place. It's a traditional Greek Style dinner with reasonable prices and good food, generous portions to boot.

I was starving and didn't feel like cooking. Wanted some comfort food and the meatloaf, potatoes, and vegetables hit the spot! It was like showing up to your grandparents and knowing you wouldn't be disappointed. The side salad was a huge portion-- I always like receiving more food than expected :-). The food was flavorful, the portion was nice size, the cherry coke was just pure nostalgia, AND it arrived before the scheduled delivery time. The presentation was nice, but I don't have a pic because I devoured it. Hahaha!

Clean, comfortable and well appointed with social distancing rules enforced. A good solid traditional Greek diner in downtown Evanston. It's an older spot but super clean with an extremely friendly staff. Greeted by the Greek mother in charge as in any true Greek diner. Honestly I've been here before and it's well worth the stop. My friend and I shard cheese blintzes which were plentiful and spot on. I ordered the veggie omelette which unlike many places was more veggie than egg which is a good thing. Chock full of broccoli, mushroom and asparagus with a side of fresh beefsteak tomatoes in place of hash browns. When the omelette comes out greener for veggies than yellow for eggs you're in a good place. A great breakfast. The same went for my friends skillet it was full of good stuff not just potato filler. They even put a large shaker of iced tea on the table so we didn't have to beg for refills. Come out and support these folks. I hope they make it through as they are one of the great spots in Evanston.

We enjoy going out. Yesterday we found this magnificent place which we didn’t know before. We spent a delightful experience there with superb dishes and an efficient crew and a distinguished cuisine. We put this restaurant in our phone list and we shall surely go again very soon. We warmly recommend.

Perfect breakfast. This spot has been here forever. My husband and I first went here in the mid 70s. It's clean and updated but hasn't lost that old school feel. Can't go wrong. Big omelets, fresh coffee with constant refills. Huge menu with Greek flavor. BustlIng and diverse diners from college kids to seniors so vast appeal. I could eat here every day. Fast service yet you're not rushed if you want to linger!
