Amazing Taco's a small gem in south Evanston. If your into upscale Mexican fare, this is the place.

I want start by saying I usually love this place. My favorite were the churros with chocolate sauce. Today… the churro or chocolate sauce were not like the usual. Flavor was ok. The churro was smaller than usual and fried harder. The sauce is dripping like water. Again flavor was ok but not the usual.

Worst pozole I've ever had. Charged $22 for cold soup (more expensive than most higher star restaurants) and didn't put any lime. When calling to ask about it, I was aburptly dismissed and couldn't speak to the manager. Would not recommend to those who like quality mexican traditional food. Taco bell has higher standards.

The pozole was not good at all. The consistency is so thick, and it legit taste and looks like the just poured a bottle of bbq sauce in it. And they didn’t even put lime on my take out order, and not to mention it was so overpriced

Great food but tough service. The kitchen never got our ticket (we were one of the few there at the time), and our waiter didn't tell us about the delay. Charging for a second Pepsi given it was fountain soda was a bit much too. Still would go back as the atmosphere and food is quite good.

One of my all time favorite and go-to restaurants! The tacos are filled with delicious flavors, and something for everyone to enjoy. My personal favorite is the Carne Asada or the Pescado, but I have to say I've never tried one I don't like. On top of that, the interior design of the restaurant is absolutely stunning, with bright colors and fun chairs on every wall. The servers are always kind and friendly, and I never leave unhappy. If you are to hit any restaurant in South Evanston, definitely try La Principal.

Brought my entire family here, and I must say it was a wonderful experience, from the drinks to the food to the atmosphere, it was all so wonderful! The staff is well trained and so helpful and cheerful. They have made a customer for life!

This place is not it. Not worth the money. Service is ***excruciatingly*** slow. The food is bland. They cheap out on ingredients. 2 margaritas took 40 minutes. And they misgendered my child with no acknowledgement or apology.Waited 40 minutes for two margaritas and one agua fresca. Another 40 minutes after that for three orders of tacos. An hour and a half for 3 orders of tacos on a slow Thursday night is unacceptable. We ordered the chorizo and papas taco, and there were only 3 pieces of potato. Servers were standing around talking to each other, not the least bit concerned with their tables or the speed of service. They don't care about you or your experience, but they'll gladly take your money. Avoid this place and patronize other local, family owned, authentic Mexican restaurants. There are many excellent options in nearby Rogers Park.

I came with my family and we had a combo of different Tacos. Al pastor, Steak, Barbacoa, Chicken, and vegan portobello…The only thing that seemed to be seasoned was the chicken unfortunately. It was super disappointing considering things like Al Pastor and Barbacoa and usually super flavorful. Drinks are great though!Vegetarian options: They have a few options!

Beautiful restaurant. Very good service. Blandest tacos and elotes I have ever had. Almost flavorless. We’ve been here 3 times in the past few years.Parking: We can usually find a spot pretty easily

Delicious food. Their pozoles on a wintry day always hit the right spot. Affordable, but not cheap - still feels like a restaurant outing. On warm days they often have some outside seating by the Metra tracks - good vibes.Kid-friendliness: Kids report it being "kid-friendly enough"
