Finally a proper Jewish deli in Evanston! Both the owner Jack and our waitress Gigi were phenomenal. Our meals were delicious and it was just the fix we were looking for. Will definitely be back!

Man was the bagel terrible. I’ve had bagels from all over the country and the bagels in this store just taste like bread in a circular shape. For a bagel shop charging an arm and a leg, they should really get some better bagels and better quality spread. My wife ordered the pastrami and corned beef and both were really dry. It was so bad we couldn’t even finish. The atmosphere and service were okay but if you want a real bagel Wouldn’t recommend. Also very pricey.

Sandwiches are very good and plentiful, but pricey. And they don't even come with chips. Those are another $2. A pickle is included but they were awful. Tasted like a plain cucumber; no flavoring at all. Matzo ball soup was barely lukewarm and overly salty, though the matzo ball itself was delicious.
Service was quick and efficient and everyone (hostess, wait staff, bussers) was super friendly.
Restaurant was excessively noisy. Not only is the music loud but the acoustics are terrible so voices carry. We had to shout across the table to hear each other.
If you don't get a booth, the small tables are all right on top of each other.
Bathrooms are on the opposite side of the restaurant, so you have to try and cross over all the waiting people in the tiny lobby, then again through the people waiting in the pick up line. Terrible design.
Two sandwiches, two cups of matzo ball soup and one iced tea + tip: $60. 😳

Mensch’s is outstanding. Great atmosphere, excellent food, always good service.
Try the Big Macher or Pastrami Reuben if you like Pastrami. The Veggie Bagel and the Matzo Ball Soup are terrific! Sweet tooth: Chocolate Babka 😍

Excellent food.
I took 3 employees out to lunch here, I got breakfast, they got sandwiches.
Breakfast sandwich and homemade chicken soup was Excellent.
The other 3 guys really liked the sandwiches they had - mensch sandwich, hot turkey and cold turkey. Everyone had clean plates - no food scraps left. Portions were plentiful.

Waitress was great and quick with the coffee and cokes.

The actual restaurant atmosphere is fine, it's a standard restaurant, nothing unusual.
Having to sit and listen to the entitled people of Evanston was not fun to say the least. Glad I don't live there.

Wheelchair accessibility: Saw a guy in a wheelchair there, seemed to have easy access to everything.

It was bustling on a Sunday morning/afternoon but our server gigi was amazing and Jack the owner went to school with my daughter so it was pretty cool.

I grew up with corned beef on rye bread. This place nails it.

What a bummer. Really excited but was underwhelmed after finally getting here. The pastrami sandwich was mediocre. The pastrami itself was dry and fairly bland. The sandwich is not piled high like most delis - pretty paltry. The coleslaw wasn’t very good. Not very creamy and the red onion threw the taste off. It was also way too cold.

$32 with tax and tip for the sandwich which comes with a pickle, coleslaw ($4) and a Dr. Browns ($3). Insane.

I’ll give it one more shot but that’s it.

Thank you for delivering my 97yo grandfather a traditional holiday meal.

We ordered a large holiday meal with all the fixings for delivery. Each dish worked well and nice flavor profiles, even when reheated post-delivery. The nonagenarian even complained Mensch’s matzah balls are better than mine.

Happily will reorder for future holidays and catering.
