Every time my wife and I go to a new (for us) restauran. I will be expecting that the food is truly Mexican. Unfortunately this place is not it. Yes, for Americans the food is good or great. Not for me. I look for food that is authentic. The Chilaquiles are made with egg that is smothered into the chips and they are crunchy not the way they make it, also, never white riceI in the same plate. am not sure that we will be back.

Wonderful food, consistently fresh and delicious. Can be a bit crowded and noisy in this bustling restaurant, but it’s a great energy level. Highly recommend for breakfast/brunch . And enjoy their fabulous coffee too!

We decided to try this place for brunch. It was pouring rain and not much space to stand while waiting for a table, so I told my husband to wait in the car around the corner until the table was ready. We were seated by a lovely hostess, who was promptly chastised in front of us by the manager for not seating a full party. I assured him that my husband would only take a minute and he told me "he would give me 5 minutes". Or what? I'm not sure - usher us away from the table back into the rain? Then he again started in on the poor hostess - unfortunately for him I speak fluent Spanish so I could understand exactly how mean he was to her. After that it was clear to us that the entire staff (which was very nice overall) works under what appears to be a really unfortunate work environment where management's priority is to turn tables over, not making patrons feel welcome. If you put your fork down for a second, someone was there to try to take your plate away. The food was just so-so. My daughter and I had the Belgian waffle with strawberries and the French toast platter. Neither was anything special. My husband had nest eggs and he seemed happy. The side of fruit was fresh and tasty. My suggestion is to stick to the chef's specialties. We will are unlikely to come back. We will stick with Frida's - a much better experience in my opinion.
