“Let me just preface this by saying I moved here from South Texas and have spent more than my fair share of time in Old Mexico. In years of searching for REAL Mexican food in St Louis, I’ve had many disappointments. This place was absolutely fantastic and pure pleasure for an old Texan. It even made me shhh my wife because I wasn’t willing to remove my focus from the delicacy I was partaking in. Can’t recommend this place enough and haven’t been able to stop telling others about it. I’ll be a permanent fixture there for sure.“

Came here for my first time and it was a delight. Staff was nice and welcoming. Upon entering the table it didn't take long to get drinks or order our food. Food was hot, quick ans delicious. “The last time I went to Zapata's was nearly 20 years ago back when they were located in Swansea. That last visit was unpleasant (food issues that are irrevelant now) so I vowed to never return.

I finally got brave and tried again a few weeks ago when my guests and I were looking to get a quick bite. What a treat! The service was great, the Margarita so delicious and very tasty shrimp tacos. The chips were fresh and hot, the salsa very good, and queso so delicious that I want to go back just for that. I won't wait years to go back again.“

“Viva La fiesta is my favorite local Mexican spot. The street tacos are really good, so is the chicken on the beach, and the fajitas, and I really like their queso fundido and choriqueso. They do a pretty good torta as well. I think the key to really enjoying this place is getting away from your typical white person Mexican food and trying some of their more unique or traditional fare. Also, super nice service every time I've gone here in person, and even when I order their food for delivery, it travels well and tastes great.“

They have several good vegetarian options on their menu, but not as many as some other similar restaurants nearby.

“I was in St. Louis to see Jeffrey Osborne concert!! Wanted to see Union Station/Aquarium!! Did!! I was Very hungry/didn't want to spend a lot of money/yes-quick eat!! It was suggested to me "Taco Container!" (I always am/was looking for tacos!!) Turned out to be the perfect suggestion!! The tacos are little/"so cute"/easy to eat/excellent!! I started out with one-went back for 3 more!!! (Would have ordered more/stayed longer at the stand/I had to drive home back to WI. that day/night!!!) We went to go and get our order and they had a huge slice of cheesecake waiting for us along with the tip in cash we had put on our order.
