Well worth whatever trip you make to get here. Highly recommend.”

“My sister Billie n I ate at the Whirla Whip while I was visiting from Southern IL. On Wednesday March 25,2026. Figuring it would be a big sandwich her n I split a Philly cheese steak sandwich, breaded mushrooms n corn nuggets n a nice cold Pepsi.The service was great n the food was nice hot n fresh. I compliment to the young lady at the window telling her how great the service was n that I believed it was the best food Id ever tasted n that I was sure to be back. The place was crowded. Some even brought their dogs for a bite of ice cream. I’m from Girard n used to walk there for a corn dog n fries from high school lunch back in the late 70s early 80s . Owned then by a family with the last name of Swift. My mom n dad owned Hubbard Feed Store in Nilwood n at the end of the year my mom n dad would have our bus stop n they paid for a drink n an icecream. The kids really appreciated it n would hang out of the bus windows screaming thank you Mr n Mrs Lake. Even after my school days were over it still remained there. My favorite was a toss up between orange n raspberry sherbet. With all that being said I’m looking forward to another trip home to have the same exact food! “Stopped by on our way to a weekend trip to St. Louis. Was very friendly & felt right back at home like in the small town I live in up north. I got a Rueben and my daughter got chicken fingers & fries. Rueben was awesome, plenty of meat and tasted awesome. We had tons of fries between the two of us & they were crispy and fluffy. I hope the next time we go down south we can stop by again. It’s a cute little mom and pop shop, and was only $22 for me and my kid to eat (minus the tip I left). My family & I were all satisfied.”

“This was the worst dining experience I have ever had. We walked in and were not greeted. Not a big deal. I ordered a pinot noir and it tasted like straight vinegar. I let the server know and asked for a busch light instead. We both ordered the tbone special for the night and was told it was $24. Mine was overcooked and my husbands was undercooked while both ordered medium. Also the tbones were missing the filet side of the steaks completely. They were definitely not the 16 ounces as advertised. I also ordered marsala sauce for my steak and didnt get it. My husband substituted fries for his salad and when we got the bill his fries were $7.75 additional. They charged us for the bad wine. The special was actually $33 each. When I mentioned it when getting the bill she said the owner said to leave the wine on the bill and the prices must have gone up. Terribly disappointed and will never go back.”

“Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly and understanding and peaceful only down side is the servers and service people were gross saying they pee on the food and being very rude to customers and they do it behind the managers back and they give u nasty looks.”
