“I’ve been to plenty of local coffee shops around Chicago and Sputnik is the absolute best. I stumbled upon this hidden gem a few years ago on my commute to work when they were on 51st. It’s been my almost daily stop since then. I’ve switched jobs a few months ago and a Sputnik pit stop adds an extra 20 min to my commute but it’s absolutely worth it.

I highly recommend a hot oat milk vanilla latte but anything you order will be amazing. They roast their own coffee, make their own flavored syrups, and they’ve done both right. The fresh pastries and growing food options have made Sputnik the best all around coffee shop. If you’re a coffee lover, DO NOT sleep on Sputnik.“

“I'm kicking myself for having slept on this place for too long. I've been coming in semi-regularly for the last few months for coffee, bagels, and sometimes donuts before my morning commute. Always delicious, staff is always friendly, and I enjoy the atmosphere. I recommend bringing your own mug if you're getting coffee to-go because they're actively trying to minimize waste. “I usually come here once a week when I work from home. I live a block down, so this is a very convenient place. I sometimes get a sandwich or empanada or an iced coffee. But, what I get every
time is their deserts. Frankly, I do not have a sweet tooth, but this place is the exception for that. I always get their tres leches cake and that is my least favorite desert usually, so this is saying something. They had a horchata tres leches cake last year that was SO GOOD and I'm really hoping that comes back soon. They also have different types of cheesecakes (which is my fav desert) so I've tried those too. They usually switch them around, so depending on when you go, they may have them or not. I've tried the Oreo and Reese's Pieces, which were good, but they had a lemon meringue cheesecake and man.... sooooo gooooood. Haven't seen it there in a few weeks, so I'm hoping it makes a comeback soon. I've only eaten in there a couple of times and it's a good vibe. Staff is super friendly and I don't have anything to complain about.“
