Village Bakery Reviews
The baked goods are always fresh. The cider donuts in the fall were amazing. Also, the cinnamon crumb cake is a favorite along with a cup of coffee.
My Mother in law’s 90th Birthday sheet Cake came out decorated beautifully and exactly as ordered! Everyone at church for the celebration raved about the cake! Highly recommend.
Everyone loved my sons birthday cake. It was so moist and delicious. I highly recommend. Thank you again.

Village Bakery is a charming Polish bakery located in downtown Fox Lake, next to the train station. It offers a variety of fresh baked goods, including bread, cookies, pastries, and the freshest cinnamon rolls around. Fresh coffee and tea are also available. The staff is friendly and welcoming, with the owner and the tall, blonde young woman being particularly noted for their honesty in pricing. Although it is cash-only, customers are reminded that a minimum purchase of $10 is needed to use a credit card, and if spending less than that, they should be prepared to cover their own fees.
This bakery is a true gem for the community, providing delicious treats that are beautifully presented. Whether ordering something special for oneself or bringing quality treats to a function, this is the place to stop by. Customers are encouraged to visit earlier in the day for the best selection, as some items, like the combination danish and sprinkled donuts, may sell out by closing time. For a delightful experience, it is recommended to sit out on the patio in springtime with a friend, sharing a selection of four different items while enjoying the atmosphere. Parking may require some patience, as street spots can fill up, and customers might need to use the post office parking lot and park along the alley behind.
