Resturant and bar located inside DeSoto hotel. Where able to get a table upon arriving. Waitress was very helpful. We ordered a couple beers a hamburger and a pulled pork sandwich. The atmosphere was interesting with lots of history. The waitress told us alot of the hotels history. Not real busy on a Saturday afternoon. The food arrived quickly. The presentation was good. The fries where oven cooked and not greasy. The fries had a typical taste. The burger where just ok the pulled pork had potential but was just pulled pork roast without any flavor. Not much flavor the bacon was the highlight. We where disappointed as we expected fresh flavorful beefy burge. Alittle better then fast food. We walked around the hotel which was interesting. Overall I would not choose this resturant again. It was just ok with prices reflecting a better culinary experience. Waitress was very good.

This gem is inside the Desoto House Hotel and is located on the ground in a beautiful open courtyard surrounded by New Orleans like balconies. The food stands out because of the variety and quality. The service is spot on and attentive. If you stay at the hotel and reserve the breakfast package it’s a real bargain because breakfast is the included as well as two drink tickets for the Green Street bar and restaurant, also located in the hotel. Plus, there is a 5 star restaurant called the General in the hotel. The hotel is right downtown in Galena and very historic.

When we first arrived in Galena we ate there on Nov. 2 had the portabella mushroom burger two hours later had food poisoning ended up in Galena hospital for 3 hours. Ruined my whole entire trip . The food was not good, contaminated, or old.

Place was very cool full of history. We were seated right away. Food was very good and the prices weren't bad. Service was ok. Server was a nice she was helpful answering questions but she was a bit slow. This was in the Desoto House Hotel, I would like to stay there on my next trip.

Server was polite, food, pork specifically horrible. Absolutely bland, way too chewy and fatty, no seasoning, nothing about it was enjoyable. Restrooms sucked, pee all over the floor, both sinks broken, spiders all over, smelled horrible, poop smeered on the wall. Cheese was the fake slices, lettuce tasted like it was from when the hotel was first built, very loud and crowded nothing tasted fresh nothing was clean. Also there were flies everywhere and some wasps too.
