We often celebrate our birthdays by eating at Jurin in Geneva. It's fun watching them prepare the meal at the table. Last night we told our server that we had two birthdays & she asked when exactly the birthdays were. We told her that they were both the day before (4/12) and offered to show her their id's. She told us that it was a restaurant policy to only celebrate one birthday per table. It was awkward and painful excluding one of the birthday people and put a damper on the mood. The server also didn't offer a rose or initiate singing Happy Birthday so we just started singing it amongst ourselves. We paid for eight meals and drinks (over $300 for the dinner). We went there thinking that we'd have a good time but left feeling disappointed by the server's cold manner.

My family had been looking forward to celebrating my son's 17th birthday at JuRin in Geneva, IL. However, our experience with the restaurant left us thoroughly disappointed and frustrated.We made a reservation for 11 people a week in advance, specifically mentioning that it was for a birthday celebration and confirming our preference to be seated together at one table. Upon arrival at JuRin, we were made to wait for about 10 minutes before being led to a table that was clearly insufficient for our group size. Despite our reservation and prior confirmation, the host attempted to seat us at a table meant for 8 people at most.When my husband raised concerns about the cramped seating arrangement, the host simply reiterated that we had confirmed our preference for one table over the phone. However, the lack of clarity during the reservation process led to a misunderstanding, as we did not expect to be squeezed into a table clearly inadequate for our group.Despite our protests and the obvious discomfort that would arise from such a setup, the host showed no flexibility or willingness to accommodate our party with a larger table. Disheartened by the lack of consideration and customer service, we made the decision to leave the restaurant.As a result of this disappointing experience, we have no intention of returning to JuRin. It's unfortunate that what was meant to be a joyous celebration turned into a frustrating ordeal due to the restaurant's mishandling of our reservation and seating arrangements. We would caution others to clarify seating arrangements thoroughly when making reservations at JuRin to avoid similar disappointments.Overall, our experience at JuRin was marred by poor communication, inflexibility, and a lack of customer-centric service. We will be seeking alternative venues for future celebrations.

We go to Ju Rin every year for my Birthday- they always made you feel special, and really went out of their way to make it a wonderful experience, the food is always awesome- over the years recently, they stopped taking your picture to commemorate your experience. Then they stopped giving out a fresh rose cutting, now apparently they even cut out the beautiful Birthday dessert! I would always recommend this place for special occasions, because they went above and beyond, and tonight we felt rushed as well. I'm really disappointed.

Horrible service we had reservation at 530 and they dident have a table, and let a reservation for 6 go befor us, the hostes was very rude, manager was no help, they gave treatment to others after we came in. Do not eat

We always go to the JuRin in South Elgin, but ordered take out one day from here because it was closer. It was $60 for two takeout meals and the portions were laughable. I got the chicken hibachi and got less than 1/3 of a chicken breast. Probably about 8-10 pieces in total. The rice was about half of what I get in South Elgin. The yum yum sauce also seemed like it was EXTREMELY watered down. I will never be ordering from this location again, what a rip off.
Had the sushi and sashimi lunch and just wasn't impressed. Quality was akin to grocery market sushi, not what I expect from a restaurant. Did not like the tuna at all, I normally love tuna. Gyoza was $8 for five tiny pieces and was a bit too charred. Not horrible, just expected better.

It was fun to sit at the hibachi table watching our comical cook. Confused as to why our cook kept a cup and a half of rice and several shrimp instead of serving it to our party of 10 people. Food was excellent! Waiters were excellent!
