My favorite place for pizza and Italian food.
We went there yesterday for my wifes Birthday. We ordered the fried artichoke for an appetizer and it was not appetizing. There were nothing like what Barones used to have. They were slimy and not cooked much at all, certainly not crispy as before. My wife ordered her favorite pan pizza, spinach and mushroom. The bottom crust was twice as thick as it used to be, not what was expected, but it was full of cheese and toppings. The crust flavor had also changed, and not for the better. I had the Barone burger with fries, and it was ok, served as ordered, although I was not asked how I'd like it cooked. The cole slaw was warm, the fries were kind of limp. The service started slow but got better. After all of our visits over the years, we don't think we will be back. New owners ?
Barone's came in 1st place in a blind 5 pizza tasting. The other 4 (in order) were Little Pops, Brasi's, Little Italian, and a distant last-Dan's Pizza. One taster gave it a 90 and another gave it a 100! Saying it was the best pizza she's ever had. Commenting on the tastiest and leanest sausage. Very Impressive. Just a great tavern style pizza in Glen Ellyn.
Excellent pizza.
Staff is young and did good regardless. Have had Barones since I was a kid and its still best pie in the area.
Been here since I was a kid, and a staple of Glen Ellyn.

Mozzarella sticks were inedible and tasted only of the cooking oil they used to fry them. Pizza is like cardboard.

My wife and 3 kids just went for the first time, everyone had a blast! Have heard how good this place is for many years and it did not disappoint. Fantastic staff, great family restaurant feel, and their pizza is every bit of what we hoped. Sauce was elite and you have to try their desserts. We'll be back soon!

literally the best thin crust pizza on the entire planet! I'm not exaggerating about this. I've been to Aurelio's. I've been to Sarpinos. I've been to Mariano's, I've been literally all over the world and in Italy, where I lived for over a year, this place has the best thin crust pizza on the entire planet bar none! The service is always fast and very good, but if your timing in the tables are a little bit cramped. The bootshs are not designed for comfort. They really are in desperate need of a refurbishment. I think the last time they did it was about 40 or 45 years ago. The decor is great, showing pictures of old Glen Ellyn which they shouldn't change at all, but they should make more comfortable booths with more space. When I was a teenager in a size 3, I didn't see what the problem is. Now that I'm almost 60, I get it. So when I do get it, I only get takeout. But like I said, it's still the best pizza you will ever taste in your entire life. The very, very best.

Good pizza, takes a bit of time to cook. Be prepared for them to cook it. FYI, they cut a round pizza into squares.

The pizza was just ok. The stuffed shells were dry. Needed more of a creamier cheese not ricotta. Cesar salad was cesaring
